FANTASY FOOTBALL THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: JULIO & THE HAMMY (Week 6)

FANTASY FOOTBALL THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS:

JULIO & THE HAMMY (Week 6)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

*I will be Live on the Chat from 5pm-5:30pm*

Julio Jones is by far the best WR in the NFL at this moment. However Week 6 with a bad hamstring/short rest week, and a matchup against Keenan Lewis who will have his opportunity to show off how BEASTLY he is on Primetime TV, all of a sudden makes this a matchup Matt Ryan may want to avoid. While Julio Jones can BEAST at any moment because he is not human, the Falcons passing game will need the help of Leonard Hankerson/Jacob Tamme and Roddy White to chip in whatever #2 option Devonta Freeman leaves on the table.

While everyone has been so focused on Matt Ryan and the passing game for the Falcons the last two seasons, Devonta Freeman has changed into a complete monster BEAST that cannot be stopped. He will run 100 MPH right at you, and if you are underestimating his ability to break tackles, he will run right through you. Expect the Falcons to rely heavily on Devonta Freeman tonight as they try to steal away a win from Drew Brees in the Superdome on Primetime TV. A feat that is tough within itself.

The Saints Passing game is by far the worst this passing game has ever been under Drew Brees. Brees says his arm is fine, but his throws make Peyton Manning’s look average these days. There is no doubt that Brees is one of the best leaders on the Football Field and will always keep the Saints competitive, but that vintage 400 Yard Drew Brees with 80 Yard TD bombs, is gone for now. The Saints are going to have win this game relying on their trio of RBs. Mark Ingram will do the heavy lifting, CJ Spiller will get the swing passes, and Khiry Robinson will crush up the middle when the Falcons Defense is tired. While Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead can make some big plays in the passing game to spark this offense, the Saints are going to need to pound the ball and kill the clock.

SAINTS (24)

FALCONS (20)

While everyone is expecting fireworks for this game, Redzone Defense will win it. The Saints Defense has been less than 100% all season and finally got healthy Week 4. They had no chance against a Hot Eagles offense on the road in Week 5, and tonight is the night that defense steps up and contains Matt Ryan from racking up the TDs. The key is Devonta Freeman, if the Saints can somehow slow down this new found BEAST, then the Saints will be able to pull out the win. Drew Brees on Primetime TV is another animal, he does not lose very often in these situations and he will get a lot of help in the YAC department (Yards After Catch) from his playmakers to win the game.

BEAST DOME BUSTS OF THE WEEK

(WEEK 3)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

Going to switch up the format for BUST OF THE WEEK. While the two Weeks I have used Jamaal Charles, there have been other BUST Picks in my Rankings which would of changed the game. Jeremy Hill and Ameer Abdullah were owned every in Daily Fantasy Football League Week 2 over 25%, if you used them, you were DONE.

WEEK 2 FANTASYPROS (MUNTRADAMUS VS. ECR)

Screen Shot 2015-09-25 at 1.01.33 AMWith the new format, we will take a Week off of video as I adjust to the new format. To make the cut on this BUST list below you must be a Top 5 Ranking Range at your position, or be a 1st/2nd/3rd Round in Pick in Standard Leagues, I present to you.

THE ALL BEAST DOME BUST TEAM (WEEK 3)

QB

DREW BREES – NO (#13 QB)

Does he have a bad shoulder? Is he 100%? Questions you never want to ask about your Starting QB who has yet to look like a fraction of the player you drafted. With no WR core outside of Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston, Brees and his fantasy owners are ready to hit the panic button. Instead of being brave and hoping Brees can tough it out Week 3 and go back to his vintage form on the Road against Division rival Carolina Panthers, who will do their best to remind Drew Brees he has a bad shoulder. Do yourself a favor and find a QB on the Waiver Wire or stream another option in Daily Fantasy.

RB

JEREMY HILL – CIN (#23 RB)

What goes up at an angle, and goes down on an angle? The answer is a Hill. Jeremy is currently on the downward slop as the situation from 2014 is completely different than it is right now. Last season Jeremy Hill really sat on the bench for the most part and watched Giovani Bernard take a lot of hits early on in the season. Eventually those hits led up, and Giovani Bernard was too beat up to play. Right now the Bengals see a very fresh Giovani Bernard who will get plenty of snaps against the very tough Run Defense of the Baltimore Ravens.

While Jeremy Hill is not down and out, his Fantasy status while Giovani is playing this well definitely makes him questionable moving forward. BEAST DOME not only ranked Hill lowest in Week 2, but also for the entire season as this Bengals team is playing a different brand of Football than 2014.

RB

DEMARCO MURRAY – PHI (#22 RB)

What goes up, must come down. DeMarco Murray is still down and he will continue to be down for another week as he goes up against the, “Swarming Kamikaze” New York Jets Defense. The Jets are playing very fierce and if you think the Cowboys were able to penetrate that Eagles O-Line last week, just wait till you see what Wilkerson and that blitzing LB core is able to do. Sam Bradford will be eating dirt all game, and DeMarco Murray will need to borrow that new Powerful Tide from Darren Sproles to take out those grass stains all over that jersey.

There is light on the other side of the tunnel for Murray, a Hamstring injury on top of everything above means that light is still not in sight.

WR

MIKE EVANS – TB (#26 WR)

By the time Jameis Winston catches the snap, J.J. Watt and Company will be in Winston’s face. Jameis will not have time to get Evans the ball deep down field against the Texans pass rush, but most importantly. Evans is not completely the same WR. While he may say he is 100%, that hamstring injury is definitely lingering in his mind as you cannot read an article about him these days without mention of the hammy. The Texans will make sure Winston does not have time to throw those deep bombs.

WR

ALSHON JEFFERY – CHI (#31 WR)

While you could make a case there will be plenty of garbage time against a very overrated Seahawks Defense. You could equally make a case that the Bears are contempt on resting their star WR to get 100% healthy during the second half blowout. While Jay Cutler somehow playing after being reported at least two weeks by ESPN would give Alshon a small boost. He will still not be anywhere near that 3rd Round Pick you drafted him to be.

TE

MARTELLUS BENNETT – CHI (#20 TE)

Martellus is usually locked and loaded as a Top 5 TE every week of the NFL season. This is a Week where it is best to go to your bench and find a different option. The Seahawks have Kam Chancellor back, which means the Bears middle of the field got that much smaller. You can guarantee Kam will be gunning for Martellus when he goes out for passes. The only thing that can save Martellus is garbage time, which is definitely a possibility, but something I would not count on.

The Price may seem high at $100 for Weekly Rankings, but you are paying for my time and expertise. Every Fantasy Site has their new Weekly Rankings out every Monday before the week is officially over. It takes me 3 Straight Days to re-watch and re-analyze all the situations to give you the best Rankings you can get.

Or you can play Jeremy Hill the consensus #2 RB and lost automatically. You can give yourself an advantage and use my Daily Rankings.

2013 FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 1 BUSTS

QB

DREW BREES – QB – NO

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #8

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #1

No doubt Drew Brees is the man.  He will throw for over 4,500 Yards and get those 30-40 TDs.  Against the Falcons is a different story.  The Saints defense is not good enough to slow down Matt Ryan.  The only way they can beat the Falcons is by controlling the clock.  The only way to control the clock is to control the ground.  Brees will likely attempt 30+ Passes as opposed to his 40-50.  Falcons defense also has the M. Night Shyamalan factor where you are not ever sure what’s going to happen with the way they line up.  A Top 10 Performance, but definitely not #1.

CAM NEWTON – QB – CAR

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #18

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #12

The Seahawks play at a different level in their secondary.  Steve Smith is not close to the fastest guy on the field, and all of those guys can knock Steve Smith out every time he touches the ball.  Greg Olsen’s speed is not fast against the Safeties and Linebackers of the Seahawks.  DeAnglo Williams will be no threat to keep the defense honest.  Bad game coming for Super Cam.

RB

MATT FORTE – RB – CHI

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #23

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #14

The Bengals have one of the best Front 7’s in the NFL.  The addition of James Harrison makes them easily one of the hardest hitting teams in the AFC.  Forte is a finesse type RB, and a Finesse type RB will be lucky to make it out of game 1 alive against this defense.  He may get those 80 Total Yards, but that TD will have to be on one long play.

DARYL RICHARDSON – RB – STL

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #39

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING # 23

The Arizona Cardinals have hard hitting linebackers, but most importantly Darnell Dockett.  If you have not watched Dockett before, you are in for a treat as he can manhandle this offensive line and give Richardson a tough time.  I would pass.

EDDIE LACY – RB – GB

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #37

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING # 25

The 49ers Defense will blow you up.  Eddie Lacy may have some raw potential that he can tap into this season, but against these linebackers he is going to be falling the other way often.  Eddie and this pass blocking offensive line will not give Lacy many carries against SF.

DEANGLO WILLIAMS – RB – CAR

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #36

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #28

DeAnglo Williams is already slower than he was a few years ago.  He also has less power.  The Seahawks play at a different speed, a speed that DeAnglo cannot compete with,

WR

BRANDON MARSHALL – WR – CHI

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #17

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING # 4

Guess what the Bengals corners got to do this week?  Guard A.J. Green as if he were Brandon Marshall.  This team already hits hard enough, but now they are prepared for Brandon and will make sure they do not allow him to beat them.  Marshall will still get his 80 yards, that TD will be hard to come by.

AJ GREEN – WR – CIN

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #21

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #5

Guess what the Bears corners go to do this week?  Guard Brandon Marshall as if he were AJ Green.  Charles Tillman is already the most physically gifted DB in the game, which makes this a matchup that AJ Green can do well with while his eyes are closed.  This defense is going to be making sure AJ Green does not beat them, and chances are it will work.

LARRY FITZGERALD – WR – ARI

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #20

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #9

The Cardinals do lack in the safety position, but they do have two excellent corners who will make sure Carson Palmer does not get his new Boy Toy.  Cortland Finnegan and Janoris Jenkins are two of the top tier DB’s in the league who will do their best to limit the Larry catches.  Larry is pretty amazing so chances are he can overcome any matchup.

RANDALL COBB – WR – GB

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #29

EXPERT CONSENS RANKING #14

Cobb is best known for his crossing routes.  Crossing routes against the hard hitting 49ers LBs will turn into crashing routes.  Cobb is not as effective against the 49ers as he will be in the upcoming weeks.

TE

MARTELLUS BENNETT – TE – CHI

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #26

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #16

Nothing is sexy about this matchup with Martellus Bennett.  He will probably be blocking often and has no matchup advantage with the Bengal LBs.  Tellus is best left for the bench in Week 1.   The goal line TD is the only thing that can save him.

K

JUSTIN TUCKER – K – BAL

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #30

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #9

Would I say won this early ranking matchup?  Tucker ended up with 9 Points in Standard leagues, chances are the 30 other NFL teams will be able to give their kickers more opportunities.  We will see how it turns out, the experts who gave him the #1 spot were off.  There was a small handful.

D/ST

BALTIMORE RAVENS – D/ST – BAL

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #26

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #18

Check mark here.  Peyton Manning shredded this defense apart with no turnovers.  That will get the job done.

IDP DL

GREG HARDY – DL – CAR

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #28

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #5

Russell Wilson is a very hard QB to sack.  When you think you have him, you never do.  Greg Hardy is very talented, but his speed may not be fast enough to keep up with the quick Russell.

IDP LB

SEAN LEE – LB – DAL

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #19

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #4

If the Giants plan on giving David Wilson the reigns, they know they have to limit his carries throughout the season.  He is a very tiny RB.  The Cowboys do have a good front 7 where the Giants may want to pass more as is, which will take Sean Lee out of the game quickly.  Something else that would be wise of the Giants.

IDP DB

ERIC BERRY – DB – KC

MUNTRADAMUS RANKING #14

EXPERT CONSENSUS RANKING #2

The Jaguars will be running the ball often this week.  Eric Berry will be ready for the deep passes, which will not come.  Love Berry this season, but not this week.

BEAST DOME NATION.

Are you ready BEAST DOME NATION.  Are you really ready for a full season of Fantasy Football?

We are still plenty of time away from Week 1 of the Fantasy Football Season (3 Full Months + 1 Week to be exact).  So with that being said, the content will be spread out until we get closer until Mid-July.  For now sit back, relax, and get ready for some knowledge.

V.I.P. Package Information will be coming soon.  For now read a Testimonial from a current V.I.P. #3 Member of Fantasy Baseball.

V.I.P. #3 Testimonial

– Dave K

I was down in my H-2-H Matchup heading into Sunday with my opponent done pitching leading in ERA/WHIP/K and Tied in Wins. I was hesitant to give up any of my starting pitchers to the wire and considered the week a loss, so I emailed Munt late Saturday night asking what should I do?

Early Sunday morning I got his email, he told me to drop Ubaldo Jimenez and add Bartolo Colon.  Sunday Colon threw a 7 INN shutout and had 9 Ks as well as picking up the Win.  The Win was a huge plus because my opponent picked up a cheap one from his RP. Needless to say my Memorial Day Weekend got that much better, not only did I get the Win but I almost took every category.  Thank you for taking time out of your Holiday weekend to get back to me so soon.

V.I.P. #3 is the only way to go to win your Fantasy Baseball Championship; the G-Mail chat is such an added plus to the VIP package this year!!! Where else in just a few minutes of time can you bounce all waiver and trade option questions off one of the leading expert!!!

FANTASYPROS – Rookie Season

#8 Overall In-Season Rankings
#1 WR In-Season Rankings
#6 QB In-Season Rankings
#12 RB In-Season Rankings
#7 K In-Season Rankings

Call me the RGIII of the Fantasy Football Expert Circuit.  Which is the perfect introduction for this article.

Let me paint you a picture.

It is 2012 draft day.

You look at the list of QBs and think to yourself…Do I go after Tom Brady/Drew Brees/Aaron Rodgers in Round 1/2?  Or do I wait until the middle of my draft and hope to snag Eli Manning or Tony Romo.  Maybe take a chance Peyton Manning comes back strong?

With the feeling that outside of the Top 3, you were really taking a chance at QB.  A position you cannot take a chance.  Even Cam Newton had Bust Potential!

Now fast-forward to the present.

It is 2013 draft day.

You look at the list of QBs and think to yourself.  Why should I waste a high draft pick on any QB.  Sure Tom Brady/Aaron Rodgers/Drew Brees are automatic options.  But we are in a new ERA of QBs.

CASE STUDY #1

Tom Brady vs. Russell Wilson

Tom Brady

300 Passing Yards/3 TDs.  24 Standard Scoring Points.

Russell Wilson

250 Passing Yards/1 TD + 80 Rushing Yards/1 Rushing TD. 28 Standard Scoring Points.

QB Scoring is completely in favor of Rushing QBs.  The last time we really had a good core of Running QBs had to be back when Donovan McNabb used to run with Philadelphia.  It was between Michael Vick/McNabb and Daunte Culpepper.  Andrew Luck is the clone of Daunte Culpepper if you have not noticed by now.  The clone of McNabb has to be Big Ben circa 2011.

My QB Rankings will not be released until July, so for now you can see the long extensive list of Running QBs in Fantasy Football for 2013.

DUAL THREAT QBs

*Not Ranked in Official Order*

AARON RODGERS – QB – GB

CAM NEWTON – QB – CAR

ROBERT GRIFFIN III – QB – WAS

ANDREW LUCK – QB – IND

RUSSELL WILSON – QB – SEA

COLIN KAEPERNICK – QB – SF

MICHAEL VICK – QB – PHI

That is 7 QBs right there who can blow up for monster Fantasy days on any given Sunday.

While Michael Vick used to be on the top of this class, he now finds himself on the unofficial bottom.  It is easy to give up all faith in Vick, but you can’t.  He now comes at such a cheap price where you have to take him as a backup.  Let us not forget he was a 1st/2nd Round Pick two seasons ago.  If the Eagles get their offensive line problems together he can take off to another level.  The weapons still exist in LeSean McCoy/Jeremy Maclin/Desean Jackson.

300+ YARD QBs

*Not Ranked in Official Order*

PEYTON MANNING – QB – DEN

AARON RODGERS – QB – GB

TOM BRADY – QB – NE

DREW BREES – QB – NO

MATT RYAN – QB – ATL

ANDREW LUCK – QB – IND

MATT STAFFORD – QB – DET

ELI MANNING – QB – NYG

TONY ROMO – QB – DAL

There are 9 QBs on this list, two of which are also on the Dual Threat list (Rodgers/Luck).

When you combine the total of QBs on these two lists, that gives us 14 QBs.  Matthew Stafford who was a 2nd/3rd Round Pick in 2012, may now be the last starting QB selected in a 10 Team League.  While I would hate to have Tony Romo/Eli Manning/Michael Vick be my starters, you can now fill out your entire roster and select them as top notch backups.  Which is a potential strategy on draft day that you should implement.

I did not mention Ben Roethlisberger or Phillip Rivers who were both selected around the Top 10 QBs in 2012.  Good reason for both to be avoided in 2013.  Big Ben lost Mike Wallace to Miami.  Rivers has the throwing arm of a 13 Year Old Girl.

Regardless you can see that this Fantasy Football Season is extra QB friendly.

More Fantasy Football Content coming.  Looking towards an Epic Season becoming the #1 Expert on FantasyPros.  Nothing is going to stop me.
