If there was ever a player that seemed to be such a legend, but has absolutely not been a legend at all. Anthony Rizzo is that guy.  Started his career in 2011, was traded to the Cubs for Andrew Cashner and it seemed like the Cubs had their 1st baseman for the future. For the next 9+ Years, he was their 1st Baseman making it to 3 All-Star Games over that stretch of time, but never displaying big power. Maxed out at 32 HRs, and only did it 4x over the 9.5 seasons with the Cubs, not very good if you want to be a Championship team, and the Cubs were not even close during that stretch. Lots of losses, and lots of videos of a hot dog vendor at Wrigley that I follow on Instagram. GETTTTTT YO HOT DAWGSSSSS. BEEEEEEEEEEER I GOT YOUR BEEEEEEEEEER.

At 31 years old, Rizzo was traded mid-season for a nobody to the Yankees. In his first full season with the Yankees at 32 years old in 2022, Rizzo hit 32 HRs, something he has not done since 2017! You can thank the Jet Stream in right field for all lefties. Last season Rizzo got off to an amazing start with 11 HRs in the first two months, but then he got a concussion when he collided with Tatis Jr. on a pickoff play. After the concussion, he went all of June and most of all July without a HR, finally hit one. A few weeks later, they put Rizzo on the IL to end his season with post-concussion symptoms.

Rizzo was on pace to hit 40+ HRs easy last season before the injury. He feels 100% healthy now, heard an interview with him, on top of that he is hitting .433 with 2 HRs this Spring. Rizzo is going to be the everyday cleanup hitter and belieber it or not, he goes as one of the last 1B to be drafted.
