FANTASY BASEBALL BUST

A RHYME THAT’S RIGHT ON TIME;

IT’S TREAKY, IT’S TREAKY (VOL. 2)

BEAST DOME NATION.

Last season I wrote an article suggesting that Trea Turner should be the #1 overall pick. There was a long stretch of the season where Trea looked horrible with only 8 HRs in the first 4 months while hitting less than .250, it was so horrible he put billboards up in the city to thank them for being patient with his slump.

In the end, Trea finished with his best year since 2021 with 26 HR/76 RBI/30 SB while hitting .266. Imagine what his numbers could have been if Trea was hitting all along. While Trea is great and he definitely showed signs to everyone that he can be the superstar he is supposed to be. I for one have seen enough of him and he is off my radar to draft in Fantasy Baseball 2024.

For one, his speed is great and he can definitely run, but the Phillies did not let him run wild last season, take out his two best months of stealing bases which combined for 18. You got yourself with four other months combined for 12 SBs. That is not very good.

If it was not for an impressive power run to close out the season where he turned into Barry Bonds, he would have performed like prime Alcides Escobar (Who is still playing on the Nationals?!). Let the Sheep run on the Trea Turner hype, he is turning 31 years old this year, he has 0 HRs this Spring, and there are a lot more exciting shortstops in the game today.
