ALL BEAST DOME TEAM (1st Half)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

The MLB All-Star Break is here, which means this is the only time of the year there are not daily numbers for me to analyze. It also means it is time to take a step back and look at the first half of the year.

The general draft strategy this year was to grab Hanley Ramirez in Round 1. Follow it up with Jacoby Ellsbury in round 2. Aim for Lester in Round 3. Then fill out your Infield with Power. Outfield with speed. While grabbing sleeper pitchers along the way.

The players below were mentioned in the Draft Strategy as well as having a higher Ranking than the expert Field. If you took the best of the best and read all the content on Muntradamus.NET, you will have a majority of the:

C

BRIAN MCCANN – NYY
2015: 14 HR/55 RBI/.259 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #8

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.19.50 PMMcCann was a clear target of the draft strategy. A catcher that was going after the names of Yan Gomes and Devin Mesoraco, I told VIP members to wait for those names to pass by and then jump on McCann. With 14 HR and 55 RBIs, he is putting up a Buster Posey type of season. Minus the batting average.

1B

MARK TEIXEIRA – NYY
2015: 22 HR/60 RBI/.240 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #36

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.19.39 PMEasily the best call of the Fantasy Baseball Sports world and continuing to look better as the season progresses. Teix is turning back the clock and is on pace to have a historic season as he heads into the ALL-STAR BREAK #1 in the American League in RBIs. This is the 2nd season in a row I have been on my own Island supporting Teix. This season I loved him more than ever as he felt stronger than ever this offseason with his new gluten free diet. There is no price tag you can pay for that type of Fantasy Advice.

2B

DUSTIN PEDROIA – BOS
2015: 9 HR/33 RBI/.306 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #8

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.19.19 PMEveryone gave up hope on Pedroia. I saw him as an excellent source of rare power and RBI potential at the 2B position. Everything was shaping up nicely for a big 2nd half before Pedroia went down. He Despite missing the last few weeks he is only 1 off 2nd Place for HRs at the position. Still a lot of 2nd half of the season left and Pedroia will keep your team fighting in the pack when he is healthy.

3B

CHRIS DAVIS – BAL
2015: 19 HR/52 RBI/.238 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #9

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.23.44 PM

Cover athlete of BEAST DOME. Chris Davis was a vital part of the draft strategy and a MUST-DRAFT player. So far Crush has been on another Crush season with 19 HR and 52 RBI heading into the break. The batting average is not killing you at .240 and his HR potential has yet to reach his ceiling. Last week he had 2 HRs robbed from him, and most importantly he has responded to that with a HR a few days before the break. Chris Davis will still be fighting if not on top of the HR Champion Crown this season. Just wait until he gets Barry Bonds hot.

SS

HANLEY RAMIREZ – BOS
2015: 19 HR/46 RBI/.273 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #3

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.18.33 PMThe first article I wrote for the 2015 Fantasy Baseball season was to take Hanley with the #2 Overall Pick after Mike Trout. Call this my Arian Foster Pick.

HANLEY BEING HANLEY

Hanley Ramirez has been worth the #2 Pick and then some. Not only because Fantasy Sites like ESPN/YAHOO/CBS and every other were promoting Jose Abreu, Paul Goldschmidt, Andrew McCutchen, Clayton Kershaw, Giancarlo Stanton, Miguel Cabrera.

While everyone was doing that. You grabbed Hanley Ramirez. You have a SS who has more HRs than all those players above, minus Stanton. You have a player at a rare position who is on pace for 40+ HRs despite being injured in the 1st Half. You have the player you want, and that is what Makes BEAST DOME the BEAST.

OF

BRETT GARDNER – NYY
2015: 10 HR/42 RBI/15 SB/.302 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #33

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.12.55 PMI wish I could give my #1 Fantasy Spot to Jacoby Ellsbury who I made a vital part of the draft strategy. What I loved about Ellsbury, I also liked about Gardner. He has been filling in very nicely for Jacoby as a Poor Mans version of him, and if you happened to take Brett and Ellsbury, you did not skip too much of a beat.

OF

GREGORY POLANCO – PIT
2015: 3 HR/23 RBI/17 SB/.233 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #43

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 11.04.14 PM

Polanco fits the mold of exactly what the Draft Strategy was calling for. A speed OF who fell late, Polanco has been nothing short of a guy who has 45+ SB potential. Those HRs can reach double digits when it is all said and done as well.

OF

CURTIS GRANDERSON – NYM
2015: 13 HR/29 RBI/5 SB/.244 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #69

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.11.22 PMNot in love with this pick as my target OF Options all got hit by the injury bug like Holliday and Ellsbury to name a few, but Curtis Granderson has been a great late round snag. The guy is on pace for 25+ HRs and 10+ SBs. What more can you ask for in a late round pick who I was telling all VIPs to grab to fill out your OF.

DH

ALEX RODRIGUEZ – NYY
2015: 18 HR/51 RBI/.279 AVERAGE
EXPERT AVERAGE: #28

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.19.07 PM

I had A-Rod much higher at #12 on my Muntradamus.NET Rankings, but my schedule ran out on me as I was launching Franchise on the same day.

The day I heard A-Rod was working with Barry Bonds in the off-season and launched a Spring HR. There was nothing more I needed to see. A-Rod was worth the investment and has been a strong 3B option all season putting up Chris Davis numbers.

PITCHERS

SP #1

MICHAEL PINEDA – NYY
2015: 9 WINS/3.64 ERA/111 K
EXPERT AVERAGE: #47

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.09.58 PMPineda is not looking like a likely candidate for 20 Wins. He is also looking at a pitcher who will have a K Rate of 9 per 9 INN. Pineda is pitching at a world class level, and he has been a coverman of the BEAST DOME pitching staff since the start of his Yankee career when everyone doubted he would ever be the same.

IF YOU LIKE PINEDA COLADAS

SP #2

AJ BURNETT – PIT
2015: 7 WINS/2.11 ERA/100 K
EXPERT AVERAGE: #69

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.09.22 PMWhile everyone was going against AJ Burnett because of his age, I knew he was the heart of the steel city and the Pirates were going to need a big season from their vet in order to compete. So far he is murdering it and AJ Burnett is going superstar mode right before our eyes.

Look for AJ to continue to BEAST the 2nd half of the season as the Pirates make their playoff push.

SP #3

YOVANI GALLARDO – TEX
2015: 7 Wins/2.67 ERA/76 K
EXPERT AVERAGE: #93

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.08.25 PMEveryone was doubting Gallardo because of his injury riddled career. I saw Texas as a stop where he could re-birth himself and go Vintage Yovani. So far the Strikeouts have not been their like the past, but he as dominant as ever carrying a Texas Rangers Pitching Staff that is on it’s last arm.

Inline image 4

SP #4

CLAY BUCHHOLZ – BOS
2015: 7 WINS/3.26 ERA/107 K
EXPERT AVERAGE: #89

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.07.49 PMClay Buchholz has been everything superstar, and all VIP members were told clearly he is a great starter to get at the end of your draft. This guy is pitching like he is Michael Pineda and drafted for a fraction of the price. Everyone doubted Clay, but I knew he had no choice to be a superstar as the staff Ace for the Red Sox.

SP #5

FRANCISCO LIRIANO – PIT
2015: 5 WINS/2.98 ERA/119 K
EXPERT AVERAGE: #41

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 4.04.30 PMYou either trust Liriano or you don’t. I decided long ago that I trust Francisco as there are not many that are as electric. The days of inconsistency from Minnesota are long gone, and now you have a stud ace.

RP

DREW STOREN – WAS
2015: 27 SAVES/1.89 ERA/38 K
EXPERT AVERAGE: #16

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 11.28.13 PMLast season it was Francisco Rodney who I called to have a BEAST season and ended up leading the MLB in saves. This season Drew Storen is taking his place and is an easy favorite to finish #1 the rest of the way. Pays to be a BEAST VIP.

RP

FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ – MIL
2015: 19 SAVES/1.41 ERA/37 K
EXPERT AVERAGE: #21

Screen Shot 2015-07-12 at 11.28.28 PMNobody believes in K-Rod like they used too. I still see flashes of the old Angels closer who almost lead them to a World Series Title. The Brewers are not winning games this season until lately, K-Rod has been cleaning up since. As long as there is no yard sale, this pick will continue to look better and better.
