This week the Industry “Experts” all sat around and decided that somehow Russell Wilson is the #1 Consensus QB for Week 5. I was very surprised to see this as I have Russell at my #10 Slot after my game-by-game breakdown and stat predictions. BUST OF THE WEEK

Russell Wilson is home on Sunday Night Football, the second time this year and it is only Week 5. I have never seen a team play at home twice on Sunday Night Football in the first 5 weeks of a season, have you? Regardless they face the Vikings. A defense that is getting healthier but is still not close to full strength. Their pass rush is not what it once was without Danielle Hunter, and the run-stopping unit is not the same without Linval Joseph, who is with the Chargers. For those who are not familiar with Linval I suggest you watch him closely on Monday Night Football against the Saints. Basically underrated Aaron Donald.

So far things are looking so good for Wilson in this matchup. Where things are not looking good is Harrison Smith. Harrison Smith is the perfect safety to eliminate DK Metcalf. While this is a Russell Wilson BUST of the WEEK article, the big reason Wilson is a BUST is because he does not get the production from his 2nd-year superstar, DK Metcalf who is really the BUST OF THE WEEK (#41 WR in my Weekly Rankings). Look for the Vikings to bend, not break, as they make sure Russell Wilson does not go Super Bowl Mode on them like he did against the Patriots last time they were home on Sunday Night Football. Quick short passes is all the Vikings will surrender, nothing deep.

There is a little something called weather.

The biggest reason Russell Wilson will BUST this week and just be a borderline QB1, and not even close to a Top QB. The weather. It is supposed to rain in Seattle all Saturday Night through all Monday early morning without a break of rain. The field will be wet, the ball will be wet, as well as gusty winds. Even if there is somehow no rain, the field being muddy is enough to slowdown both offenses and make this is a PURE power ground game. As of now it is more than expected it will rain, and even without rain, DK Metcalf is going to be Shutdown this week. When Metcalf does nothing, Wilson is like Tom Brady with the Patriots from a season ago. No weapons, just a nice slot toy in Tyler Lockett (Edelman) who really makes his living just moving the chains.
