FANTASY FOOTBALL ATTACK OF THE SHEEP
BEAST DOME NATION.
*DISCLAIMER THAT IS NOT MY CARD*
It is very very very unfortunate for Cam Akers to not be able to play this season after an Achilles injury. No matter that he was not part of the BEAST DOME Draft Strategy as my #12 RB, you never want a player to be injured. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Always root for the enemy, because if you do not root for the enemy, you are rooting against yourself as well. Lamar of Attraction.
RB RANKINGS JULY
As soon as the news broke that Cam Akers was out for the season. The Sheep like a herd, all went to rush to say Darrell Henderson is a 2nd Round Pick in Fantasy Football. When McVay confirmed after the injury that the Rams are not going to look for a veteran RB to complement Henderson, the Sheep stood their ground and said. HENDERSON IS A 2nd ROUND RB!
If I got a nickel for everytime a coach stood by his word during the preseason, or if a beat reporter had a good read on a preseason battle. I would have 0 Nickels.
Yet everyone takes their words so literal, and does not think for themselves. I have seen it all and read it all like a book every season. Favorite example of that is the Arian Foster in 2014 when all the beat writers said he is not going to get a full complement of snaps, and everyone fell for it allowing everyone on the BEAST DOME NATION to get one the most exciting Fantasy Football RB’s in the last decade Round 2/3.
The question we have to ask is Darrell Henderson primed for a big season? The answer is.
Maybe, but probably not.
Even though Sean McVay said the Rams are not going to do anything at RB. The NFL season at 17 games this season, is a very long season. To expect Darrell Henderson to survive all year, a RB who can go down with a fingernail tackle, is not a realistic expectation.
You think Henderson can go 154 touches to 300 touches? And let us be honest he did not impress, only twice he broke a ran over 25 yards on 138 carries..Your grandma can do better.
The Rams are Super Bowl contenders this year. They would even have home field advantage for the big game! Do you think the Rams are just going to sit there and watch Henderson do a bunch of nothing plays, with no real backup plan?
No they are not. Especially with all these names in Free Agency.
Bring him back for one last touch of magic as the power RB. While the tank is almost dry, he still has some miles left to keep things interesting.
Definitely oil in the tank with AP who ran like a BEAST whenever the opportunity came last season. Stafford would love to play with him as they had success together last year in Detroit. AP is definitely better than Henderson, and a far more powerful RB. 36 years old, AP needs just over 4,000 yards to be the all-time rusher, but could pass Barry Sanders with a 500 yard season. He would do it with ease on the Rams.
Maybe the best 3rd down RB in the NFL on a good day. McVay was the Offensive Coordinator for Chris Thompson in his prime at Washington. McVay knows how to utilize him, and let us be honest. Henderson is not a RB in the NFL because of his receiving skills.
Even though Le’Veon looked far off his game after going to KC. There is no way you can look me in the eye and tell me Darrell Henderson is better than Le’Veon Bell. Bell could use the change of scenery and be the LEAD RB again for a winning team.
So while the Sheep continue to flock to wasting a 2nd or 3rd Round Pick on Darrell Henderson. You will be smart enough to know it is just a trap. One of many this season.
