FANTASY FOOTBALL MVPS OF PRESEASON FOOTBALL

FANTASY FOOTBALL MVPS OF PRESEASON FOOTBALL
By Muntradmus
BEAST DOME NATION.
We are nearly two weeks complete of Preseason Football, and I have to say I am deeply disappointed in the NFL. A few years ago I remember when Patrick Mahomes would play an entire half, and throwing a 80 yard TD to Tyreek Hill late in the 2nd quarter. Now we barely see any starters, one drive max. Worst part is most teams end up playing their backups instantly like Zach Wilson taking the first snap for the Saints, and Tyler Shough get no game reps despite being a 2nd year QB. What has NFL preseason become?
Every year we do see players improve in the NFL, and the first time we see this is during the preseason. There are two players who have really stepped up their game and they deserve a little shoutout. The only problem is, neither of these players are draftable in any Fantasy League, so here is their featured piece. If there are injuries to players in front of them on the depth chart, then they will be added quickly off the Waiver Wire.
RAY DAVIS
Whenever I would watch Ray Davis play in the past, if it was not for him being on a great team like the Bills, he would be out of the NFL. Ty Johnson in my opinion was the way better RB than Davis if Cook were to miss time. Not just 3rd down RB for Ty, but all-around purpose RB. After watching Ray Davis this preseason, my entire opinion has changed. Not only is Ray Davis in amazing shape and running like a Prime Leonard Fournette, no actually that is what is happening, Ray Davis has turned into PRIME Leonard Fournette. While James Cook is definitely the guy, do not be surprised to see Ray Davis get a lot of carries in second half blowouts this season for the Bills. Eventually Davis will be a starting RB in the NFL, just not with this current Bills roster.
MIKE WASHINGTON JR.
I wrote a featured article on MWJ last week, and after seeing him this week, I am convinced the Raiders have two strong RBs. Do not forget Kubiak the new HC and the previous OC for the Sehawks loved running Kenneth Walker and Charbonnet together, to keep both fresh. I would not be surprised if we saw something similar. Ashton Jeanty is in a free fall as far as value for me, Mike Washington Jr. will be a starting RB in the NFL at some point.
DE’ZHAUN STRIBLING
Stribling is impressive, but there are so many mouthes to feed on the 49ers. If Mike Evans was not there, if Kittle was not there, if Kirk remains injured, if Deebo was not there, I would be ALL OVER Stribling. However I mentioned all those names and did not even include Christian McCaffrey who is a candidate to lead the 49ers in receptions any game. Brock has a ton of weapons, Stribling is one of them, but he is one of many. You can read Fell in Love with a Stribler from last week, just to emphasize this point.
JONATHAN MINGO
Mingo was a Sheep call from all the Sheep his rookie season in Carolina, 2023. I knew he was going to be a BUST, you can read that article here. M-I-N-G-O. Now in Dallas, Mingo has found a great role, WR4. That is not helpful when the fantasy season starts, but it is nice to see him finally reach his potential getting wide open easily in his first two games. Mingo should have had 2 TDs on Satuday night, but Milton did not see him. Mingo has done enough this preseason to extend his career, however on this current Cowboys roster when the season begins, any target that comes his way will be rare.
I am slaving away watching the preseason tape. Watching Tyler Huntley look like trash, watching Cooper Rush throw passes that make me think he is better than Tua. Just pure trash Football. The NFL better change the preseason in 2027 to make it mandatory that starters play, or at least just broadcast the practice reps of when the starters play during the week. Right now what we are watching is probably worst than Arena Football, and a completely unwatchable product.
