FANTASY FOOTBALL BEAST OR BUST ROOKIE PROFILE

JONATHAN MINGO

Every year there is a Rookie WR that gets way too much hype. Elijah Moore his Rookie season is a prime example of that. AJ Brown said he was going to win Rookie of the Year, Sheep were drooling at his feet in Fantasy Leagues burning a valuable pick. How about Matthew Berry dying on the hill of Jaylen Tolbert having sheep waste a valuable 9th/10th Round Pick on a guy who did not even make the roster last season in Dallas. Exactly some of you do not know who he is.

This year, the Sheep are back at it again. Some rank Jonathan Mingo as the #50 WR which would make him about a 10th Round pick in Fantasy leagues. Everyone else says, to waste a late draft pick on him.

There is no doubt, Jonathan Mingo looks like a talented Football player. In college he had the body to go over the middle of the field fearless that he was the biggest player, he had the speed to outrun everyone, he would run deep bombs past the defense, he would take bubble screens to the house. Now we are in the NFL, everyone is bigger than Mingo, and everyone is just as fast. With that being said Mingo has talen.

The only problem is, Mingo is not a polished NFL veteran, and he is also not on a team that has a polished system. The Panthers have a new coach, a new OC, and a new QB. They also have a new RB, and two new WRs. This is not an established Buffalo Bills offense, this is NFL Street on PlayStation 2 and you can only pick scrubs.

The Panthers are going to be figuring out their offense as they go, and while they may figure it out sooner than later. The chances of Mingo being a consistent weapon in the passing game with Adam Thielen and the Baby Chark himself, DJ Chark are looking not likely at best. Not to mention they also have Terrace Marshall Jr. who was looking like a solid 70+ yard WR per game type of player and deserves a lot of snaps this season. They also have Hayden Hurst who needs to get his touches at TE.

On top of everything listed above, the Panthers are going to rely on running the Football to win games when they have a lead. Which means the chances of Jonathan Mingo being anything more than an inconsistent WR5 at very best who will be lucky to average over 50 yards per game with his likely 3-4 targets per game, which makes him.
