MIKE WASHINGTON JR. FANTASY FOOTBALL BEAST OR BUST

While everyone was excited to see Mendoza at QB for the Raiders, turns out the player everyone really should have been excited for was Mike Washington Jr. Mike has the speed, the moves, and the frame of a RB who looks like they can tear up a defense all game long. Ashton Jeanty on the other hand looks like a used bowling ball you would find at your local lane.

Ashton Jeanty did nothing to impress me in the preseason opener, he is still the same Ashton Jeanty of Christmas past. Volume is going to be Jeanty’s friend this season, but Mike Washington looks like someone who deserves some touches as well. I go about it more in the BEAST DOME Draft Guide as well as everything else I see in Week 1 of the preseason. (HAIKU PART I posted for those who have the Draft Guide).

At this point if you go against my 20+ Fades article and draft Ashton Jeanty, just remember this. If I had to compare Jeanty vs. Washington Jr. to a previous Fantasy Football situation. Go back in a time machine to when Tony Pollard entered Dallas in 2019, Zeke Elliott was still the guy. By 2022 Pollard made it a complete 50/50 situation. Jeanty is still the guy, Mike Washington Jr. is just the handcuff.

MWJ BEAST OR BUST

SHORT TERM: BUST

You will never use him on your Fantasy Roster unless Jeanty misses time.

LONG TERM: BEAST

In reality MWJ is better than Ashton Jeanty already. Raiders are invested in Jeanty so they would never admit it, nor would they ever show it in year 1 for MWJ. Jeanty will get all the carries he can take until his rookie contract is up, and when his wheels fall off, MWJ will take over as the next Raiders RB.
