Fantasy Football: RB You Drafted Too High (Bust)

BEAST DOME NATION.

A lot of you are having your drafts. A lot of you do not have my assistance in your drafts. But you can, take a look at the VIP Packages.  This article will take a look at a few players that are being drafted too high when there is better more consistent on the board.

Fantasy Football

MATT FORTE – RB – CHI (#13 Overall/#7 RB)

Forte is also a special player who could have a big season.  But let’s be realistic about Michael Bush.  Bush is already going to eat the goal line TDs, and he is more than capable of being someone that deserves 8 carries a game as a backup.  Forte is good, but Steven Jackson, Marshawn Lynch are much safer RBs for the long haul that will be more consistent who go a handful of picks later.

TRENT RICHARDSON – RB – CLE (#28 Overall/#15 RB)

Richardson has the luxury of being on a terrible football team that will never replace him as long as he is healthy.  As good as that sounds, it is actually a bad thing when counting on consistency.  The Browns are going to get shutout a lot of weeks, or trailing at least more than 60% of the time in the 2nd half.  I would not reach for Richardson this season, the off-season knee surgery is never a good thing heading into a season, especially for a rookie.

MICHAEL TURNER – RB – ATL (#29 Overall/#16 RB)

Turner is going to lose his RB job at some time this season.  It will be less than 8 weeks, and to draft him as a #2 RB is leaving you in a terrible position for the long haul of the season.  JacQuizz Rodgers fits the new vertical Falcons offense.  Go ahead and let someone else reach for Turner this season.  Coaching staff has already admitted that Turner looks a bit slower this season, and most of his TDs came in a few games against easy opponents last year.

AHMAD BRADSHAW – RB – NYG (#34 Overall/#17 RB)

Bradshaw finally got rid of Brandon Jacobs, only to deal with the younger version of himself in David Wilson.  Wilson will be a factor this season, and if Bradshaw shows his age or those ankles don’t hold up, he could lose his job for good.  Wilson is that good, and Bradshaw is not that durable.  Let someone else reach for Bradshaw while you wait for Cedric Benson or Willis McGahee.

DARREN SPROLES – RB – NO (#35 Overall/#18 RB)

Sproles is part of a 4 headed RB monster in New Orleans.  Sproles has all the talent in the world, but when you see Christopher Ivory steal a TD, or Mark Ingram get 15 carries, or Pierre Thomas catch a long screen pass for a TD…The options are too many to trust Sproles every week of the season.  If you are okay with 70 total yards a week on average, than Sproles is your guy.  Not worth a guy who goes #35 overall though.

FRANK GORE – RB – SF (#39 Overall/#19 RB)

Gore should do better this season now that the 49ers have a passing threat.  The problem is, the 49ers are stacked with depth at RB.  Gore is not getting any younger, and Kendall Hunter/Anthony Dixon/LaMichael James are all hungry for their opportunities.  Did not even mention Brandon Jacobs who will steal the goal line TDs.  I will avoid him this season.
