The Process Continues LeBron James

The 76ers have been trusting the process for what feels like a decade now. Bad seasons, great draft picks, bad selections with those draft picks. The 76ers have been on an endless wheel of some Championship glimmer, only to lose in the playoffs. Last season I had a huge underdog play on the 76ers winning the Eastern Conference Finals, after beating Boston in the 1st Round I was already counting my chickens before the eggs hatched. The Knicks went on to beat the 76ers and dominate the rest of the NBA playoffs.

The 76ers made a HUGE move this offseason when they traded Paul George for Jaylen Brown. That is equivalent in Football terms to trading Jared Goff for Josh Allen. The 76ers were already looking like a title favorite, so they added LeBron James to the mix to make them the obvious choice in the East.

The question now remains, does any team in the East stand a chance against a stacked 76ers starting 5? Not to forget possibly 6th man of the year in Anfernee Simmons who can score with the best of them. The Knicks certainly can compete, but Jaylen Brown + LeBron James certainly makes the 76ers the better team on paper. Cavs cannot be taken seriously after their last playoff run, hard to imagine James Harden getting better from here, or any of their star players. Boston Celtics are done after losing Jaylen Brown, they think way too high of Payton Pritchard and it is going to destroy that Franchise and lead to a rebuild. Miami would have been a great choice if he joined them with Giannis, but shooting might be their downfall.

Even though the 76ers have the best roster in the East, and maybe the entire NBA. The season can still be unpredictable; injuries, fast paced basketball, poor performances, anything can happen. Regardless, the King still has a lot in the tank and it would not surprise me if he continues to play next year as well. Possibly playing on the court at the same time as his two sons. The contract is for two years, second year being a player option, I can see him opting out and going to another team when the time comes. Maybe one last big payday instead of accepting his $3.5 Million contract to win it all this season.
