MARSHAWN LLOYD

Ever since Marshawn Lloyd was drafted by the Packers, Fantasy Football sites have been touting him, besides BEAST DOME. Rookie season he was supposed to be a player that devalued Josh Jacobs a bit, Lloyd got injured. Last season Lloyd was supposed to compete to be the backup RB, he got injured. Taking Marshawn’s place was Emmanuel Wilson, which led to a nice new home in Seattle for Wilson, until the Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price.

For the first time, Marshawn Lloyd looks poised to be part of the Packers gameplan this season. Josh Jacobs is suspended for X amount of games, from first glance reading the reports, it sounds not as bad as Kareem Hunt punting a girl in a hallway. However when they bring up a video, all you get is flashbacks of Ray Rice who was part of the BEAST DOME Draft Strategy that season. As long as TMZ is not involved, Josh Jacobs should return at some point. Until that some point, Marshawn Lloyd is the starting RB.

Lloyd was being drafted very late in drafts this Summer, 14th Round he was there. Now Lloyd is being drafted as early as the 7th round. Is Marshawn Lloyd worth the pick? The answer is no. I watched every Marshawn Lloyd snap this preseason, and every season. I was never high on Marshawn his entire career because he has no IT factor. Marshawn Lloyd does not break tackles, and he does not outrun players. He has a nice RB body, but as far as talent he is definitely below par. If it was not for blown coverage on a halfback pass in the middle of the field in the redzone, Lloyd would have been a complete disaster this preseason. I could argue Pierre Strong Jr. looked better than Lloyd. However the Packers are committed to seeing if Marshawn is the truth.

At the end of the day, I am on the side of talent more than the side of opportunity here. Marshawn Lloyd is not good, and even though he may find some cheap TDs with Jacobs out, none of them will feel deserved. I am not taking Marshawn Lloyd this season because the truth is, if the Packers signed Kareem Hunt tomorrow, Lloyd would be out of the picture completely as far as being a viable option on your Fantasy Football roster.
