WHAT IN THE RUNNING BACK IS GOING ON?

Usually, when we are in August, the only thing Fantasy Football owners are concerned about is injuries and depth chart moves. It does also help to know what is going on in camp, but those stories can also be inflated heavily by beat reporters who have their own biases.

This year things are different. Not only are there four capable RBs who have yet to sign with a team (Cook/Fournette/Hunt/Zeke) there are also two star RBs who are doing their best to replicate Le’Veon Bell and hold out (Jacobs/J.Taylor). While all of this confusion continues to inch us closer and closer to the start of the regular season, the bottom line is that this is more or less just drama that makes the NFL the NFL.

Once the NFL is gone, the NFL is gone and these superstar RBs are nothing more than just civilians on the street. If Jacobs nor Jonathan Taylor play this year, they can write off their career. If Dalvin Cook does not take a pay cut, if Zeke does not drop the ego and just go back to the Cowboys, these guys are done.

The NFL is a bad business if you are a RB, but until something changes these guys have to suck it up for their near kicker salaries until the NFL changes things. If they really need the money they can just sign a bunch of stuff and then sell that. I am personally not afraid of Taylor nor Jacobs missing time this season, however with that being said Josh Jacobs has been on my BUST list all Summer despite being the MVP of the Draft Guide in 2022.
