FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 12 BUST OF THE WEEK
THE BOOK OF ELI
By Muntradamus
BEAST DOME NATION.
Once again the Rankings for Bust of the Week held true, besides DeAndre Hopkins who used his travel miles to vacation on Revis Island. Not only did he eat steak dinners every night, but he was all over the Hotel Bar leaving the tab for the Jets to pick up.
We have a new batch of players, while many still remain the same. Once again these Bust Rankings are based off of their projected finish from their Ranking of the Week compared to the Expert Consensus. So even if Gurley is once again saved by a goal line Touchdown, his 11 Points does not make him the #2 RB of the Week.
ELI MANNING @ WAS
MUNTRADAMUS QB RANK: #20
ECR QB RANK #4
It is likely going to be a cold Sunday in Washington with a chance of rain. The Giants should look sharp after the bye week, but the cold weather will definitely limit the chance of a shootout. This matchup has a lot on the line including the potential NFC East Champion. While the Giants could win this game, the chances of Eli Manning throwing for 300 Yards and 3 TDs is very slim. The chances for 250 Yards and 2 Touchdowns is more realistic, and those numbers are not Top 5 QB numbers.
TODDY GURLEY @ CIN
MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #12
ECR RB RANK: #2
Gurley will get his attempts on Sunday and he will likely get his 50-70 Total Yards with a TD, but that does not make him the #2 overall RB of the Week. The Bengals have struggled against the run all season, but they also know when they face the Rams that they need to focus everything on stopping the run as likely starter Nick Foles is a turnover machine in the making.
The Bengals could also jump out to a huge lead which will force the Rams to throw more, which means Gurley will not see as many touches as he would have if the Rams could stay competitive. Will that 3.0+ YPC be enough?
DOUG MARTIN vs. IND
MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #15
ECR RB RANK: #3
Everyone was really excited about Doug Martin going off last week, if you had purchased my Rankings you would have seen that I gave him #4 RB of the Week Love to breakout against the Eagles. The Colts defense is a different story led by superstar D’Qwell Jackson, and a nice supporting cast of talent featuring Jerrell Freeman.
The Colts will not allow Douggie to break off 70 Yard Runs like he was against the Eagles, and you can guarantee that the Colts will do a good job of managing the clock and not allowing Tampa’s offense to be on the field all day. If the Bucs fall behind we will see more Charles Sims as well.
BRANDIN COOKS @ HOU
MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #30
ECR WR RANK: #15
The Texans are playing at a different speed as of late. They finally figured out how to tackle, but most importantly secure the open gaps in the secondary. While Brandin Cooks has been the #1 WR as advertised this season for the Saints, he is definitely a 2nd Round Bust as there has been much better value from WR’s that go later. The Texans are on a mission to make the playoffs, and pressuring Drew Brees will be the name of the game. Brees has always been a step worst than he has been at home, this is not a good time to be playing this Texans Defense.
JARVIS LANDRY @ NYJ
MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #29
ECR WR RANK: #19
No Revis Island who was destroyed by DeAndre Hopkins last week. In comes the struggling Antonio Cromartie who cannot figure out why he is having such a bad season. Antonio came on NFL Network two years ago and declared he was the best Cornerback in the NFL, right now he is playing like a guy who should sit on the bench. Fans are going after his wife and kids on Twitter, which means it is time for Antonio to show up as all eyes will be on him to protect the Jets secondary. I believe in Antonio, and the screen pass WR option Jarvis Landry will be limited to an average day because of it.
JOHN BROWN @ SF
MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #48
ECR WR RANK: #27
John Brown has 5 Receptions or less in 7 of the teams 10 games so far this season. T.Y. Hilton Jr. has been living up to his BOOM or BUST potential with the best of them, and a matchup against the 49ers which is a likely blowout means one thing. If Brown does not get his bomb TD early, he will not get a TD at all. The Cardinals will likely blowout the 49ers resulting in the Cardinals running out the clock the entire 2nd half. Do not take the risk and start John Brown, you’re better off buying a lottery ticket.
TEAM BEAST DOME COMING SUNDAY MORNING
Noooo!! Douggie!! Run away from Daquell!!!!
Thanks for all the hard work man. Would you consider Floyd of AZ in the SF game?
