FANTASY FOOTBALL THE NUMBER 1 RB 2022

FANTASY FOOTBALL THE NUMBER 1 RB 2022
By Muntradamus
BEAST DOME NATION.
Since the beginning of time, the Sheep continue to lead the masses to the wrong #1 RB. BEAST DOME year after year has continued to BEAST with the #1 RB. We can even point back to all the times the Sheep had everyone draft Jamaal Charles while BEAST DOME was BEASTING with the legendary run of Marshawn Lynch and Arian Foster.
JAMAAL CHARLES BUST ARTICLE
2020. Everyone was saying you had to draft CMC, BEAST DOME had everyone on Alvin Kamara who put up a record season. Including 6 TDs in the Fantasy Football Championship.
2021. Everyone was saying you had to draft CMC again with the #1 Pick, BEAST DOME had everyone on Derrick Henry who was on pace to put up record setting numbers that may never be touched. While Henry did go down at the mid-point of last season, all the BEAST DOME NATION pretty much had their playoff spot locked in.
2022. Once again the Sheep are heading in the wrong direction. Some say Jonathan Taylor (Average Pick 1.5), some say CMC (Average Pick 1.9) one more time. While you can make a case for either of those RBs, the truth is, neither will be the top player in Fantasy Football, neither guaranteed top RB either.
Jonathan Taylor should be strong no doubt behind one of the best O-Lines in the NFL. Loss of third downs to Hines is a reality, but Taylor should manage to put up strong Fantasy games very consistently.
CMC should be strong with improved QB play assuming Baker should be better than Darnold. Injury concerns are real, the guy cannot stay healthy.
But what about the other RBs in the first round?
DERRICK HENRY
Derrick Henry the last year BEAST can arguably be the #1 RB right? Actually no, the Titans learned the hard way as much as they want to run the ball 25+ times a game, it is not sustainable. Titans still have a chance to make the Playoffs this year despite losing AJ Brown, and the last thing they want to do is lose Derrick Henry before the playoffs. Expect a lot of games where Derrick Henry does not get carries late in the game if the Titans have a comfortable lead, on the flip side expect the Titans to bench Henry if the Titans fall out of the game. No doubt Derrick Henry is a 1/1 RB, the Titans offense is heading in the wrong direction.
AUSTIN EKELER
Tiny little Ekeler continues to defy the odds that you do not need to be a big RB in the NFL to be considered one of the best. There is no doubt that Ekeler’s ability to catch the ball is the biggest reason he is drafted as high as he is, because he never going to get 20+ carries in a game. The truth is, an injury can happen at any time to any player in the NFL. At the end of the day, I want a RB who does not go down every other year with an injury. 2017-2019-2021 healthy all 16 games. 2018-2020, injured. If this was a SAT question, Ekeler would be getting injured in 2022. Still a great fantasy RB when healthy, but not the 1st Round Pick I want to make. The Sony Michel signing should vulture some goal line TD and short yardage situations away.
DALVIN COOK
Dalvin Cook is a BEAST and is arguably the most underrated RB of the collection. Injuries however have hindered him every single season of his NFL career. The ability to never stay healthy is a concern, and Mattison as his backup RB is a concern as well. Vikings seem destined to get rid of Mattison at some point this season to trade him while his value is high, because this is Dalvin’s team. While Dalvin has all the flash in the pan to be the #1 RB on this list, injuries and durability make it a concern, and a reason why he is not my #1 RB.
NAJEE HARRIS
Najee has snuck into the first round conversation. There is no doubt that Harris has the talent, the drive (orphan child), and the volume in the Steelers offense. The downside, this offensive line is really bad. The offensive line is so bad, that Big Ben had to retire despite maybe having another year left in the tank. Trubisky does offer some nice things to this Steelers offense, like a bit more mobility to help make the Steelers offensive line not look so bad, but it is really bad. Najee Harris is a monster, he will get touches, but there are games where the Steelers offense plays a bit like a JV offense, and Najee is not my #1 RB because of it.
So who is my #1 RB?

Hint. He is not even Drafted in the 1st Round
