SUPER MARIOTA (Marcus Mariota)

BEAST DOME NATION.

It is not often, QBs get a second chance as a starter after going to a backup role. While Mitch Trubisky is getting his underdog story in Pittsburgh, a more surprising story is Marcus Mariota in Atlanta.

While Mariota was the college star of college stars, at Oregon. The starting QB career of Mariota has been more or less just handing the ball off to Derrick Henry with the Titans. With a non-impressive throwing performance, Mariota ended up going to the Raiders and being a backup. Seemed like his days as a starting QB was over and there was nothing more that had to be said.

The Falcons got rid of Matt Ryan this offseason, their solution, get a QB who cannot throw the Football. Good news for the Falcons is their WR core needs a really talented QB for them to be good, to begin with, so someone like Mariota allows the Franchise to save money and continue the rebuild process. Kyle Pitts could however see a big boost in volume (no surprise) as Mariota loves his TEs. With the Titans, Delanie Walker became a household name in Fantasy Football, and it is almost guaranteed Kyle Pitts does the same. With that being said, Pitts does cost a high draft pick (3rd Round) and is not part of the BEAST DOME Draft Strategy.

While you can argue Pitts is one of the best TEs in Fantasy Football, the truth is Marcus Mariota is maybe one of the most inconsistent passing QBs in Fantasy Football. The Falcons are not going to win games by throwing the Football and everyone knows it. Mariota is getting a second shot to be a starting QB, but it is likely his last. He is in a situation to fail with a rebuilding core of players to throw to, and Mariota is not Money enough to make this relationship work.
