FANTASY FOOTBALL:

IT’S MALLETT TIME

(TEXANS MOVING FORWARD)

BEAST DOME NATION.

TEAM BEAST DOME (won last week) will be posted tonight. The article you are about to read now is about the current state of the Texans with the news of Ryan Fitzmagic being bench for Ryan Mallett.

TEXANS WITH NO FITZPATRICK

When I saw the news, I was disappointed, but in that short time Fitzmagic was on my roster, TEAM BEAST DOME went from 0-2 to 5-4.

The Texans moving forward with Ryan Mallett as the starting QB is something that can work out. Mallett worked closely with O’Brien in New England as he was the QB coach/offensive coordinator for the start of Mallet’s NFL career. Ryan and Bill are ready for this moment from the first day they worked together when Mallett was a rookie in training camp, and you know the Texans will be a stronger team because of it. While I love Ryan Fitzpatrick to death, and he was the poster boy of this amazing comeback season. He was not really a good NFL QB. He was a better fantasy QB with his odd rushing numbers, but he never moved the chains consistently and he choked in comeback mode every single time. I mean c’mon Fitzmagic how do you Fumble on Thursday Night Football against the Colts.

Not only that, Fitzmagic and Andre Johnson never clicked. While the targets were always there for Andre, the results were not. Andre Johnson was never the star we know he can be with Fitzmagic, and a new QB is probably the best thing for him moving forward. However, I will likely be benching Andre for his first game with Mallett coming off of the bye, more on that next week.

As far as Arian Foster, a new QB that has a higher a better chance of moving the chains is a QB that can only help Arian. The Texans never ran enough pass plays for Arian as is, especially screens. Arian Foster looked amazing on the wheel route TD pass from Fitzmagic against the Eagles, and that will probably be our last best memory of Ryan Fitzpatrick who went out with style scoring the most points he scored all season in 25.05.

Texans can still make the playoffs because the AFC South is pretty weak. They still have two games left against the Jaguars and another against the Titans which are an automatic 3 wins bringing their total to 7. All they have to do is win two more games.
