BUST OF THE WEEK (1)
NO LUCK, ALL SKILL
BEAST DOME NATION.
It is almost opening Sunday around the NFL, a day that is more exciting than Christmas and every holiday wrapped into one. What makes an opening Sunday even more exciting, is when your team is playing at Home. What makes the day even more exciting is when you’re watching your Fantasy QB.
The Indianapolis Colts are hosting their home opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, and while it is easy to be excited as a Colts fan for Football season to be back, especially with Andrew Luck at QB.
Do not get too excited.
Andrew Luck is nowhere near the QB he once was, and it is not his fault. The Colts decided once again to have their Franchise Coverman, protected by a group of horrible offensive lineman for what seems like the past handful of years. Eventually the hits added up and Luck needed to get a new throwing shoulder on the black market last year to be in there today.
After missing all of the 2017 season, he returns with an offensive line that features two rookies and is not looking good at all this preseason. With Carols Dunlap and Geno Atkins playing like MVP’s this preseason, the Colts better hold their breath for all the hits Luck will take opening week.
TY Hilton will be seeing tons of different coverages, and with Luck’s unability to throw the ball deep, because he will not have time, and his arm is nowhere near where it once was, the Colts are in BIG TROUBLE. Hilton can beat #2 corners with no safety help, but he will have eyes on him everywhere he goes. Luck has nobody else to throw to.
The Over/Under for Andrew Luck is 245.5 yards, and even though this game is at home, the Bengals are just a 2 hour drive down the freeway, and the new Bengals D under Coordinator Teryl Austin, who turned the Lions into a strong defense out of nowhere, will destroy Luck and the Colts. Do not even think about playing him on any Daily Fantasy site.
