JacQuizz In My Pants (Week 4)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

For all of you new to the site.  This is essentially the “Start’EM” article of the week.  The Sit’EM aka Busts comes out later today.

I am now officially, unofficially the #1 Expert in WR rankings after having Anquan Boldin ranked higher than the entire field (#22), while the 1st place WR expert had him at (#52).  I was ranked #2 in the department heading into the game.  With that being said, the season is still young.  Here are my Week 4 BEASTS!  Get them in your lineup.

*Reminder. Live Chat Sunday 11:00am (EST) – 12:45pm (EST)

WEEK 4 RANKINGS

WEEK 4 BEASTS

*The players picked for this list are players by highest differential in the ECR compared to my Week 4 Rankings.

MATTHEW STAFFORD – QB – DET

MUNTRADAMUS QB RANK: #3
EXPERT QB CONSENSUS RANK: #10

Stafford against the Vikings is a matchup which made you draft Stafford so high in the first place.  The Vikings specialize in run defense, and letting teams beat them with the pass.  With the Lions offense just itching to become the flawless unit they know they can be, look for them to explode.  Stafford may be nicked, but he appears healthy.  Get him in your lineup as a top 5 option.

MATT SCHAUB – QB – HOU

MUNTRADAMUS QB RANK: #8
EXPERT QB CONSENSUS RANK: #14

The Titans pass defense allows any and every team to do what they want to them.  Nothing should be different here as the Titans need to sell out to stop Arian Foster, which should lead to a MONSTER performance from Andre Johnson.  Schaubs stat line will look nice as long as Arian Foster does not run in 4 TDs.

CHRISTIAN PONDER – QB – MIN

MUNTRADAMUS QB RANK: #10
EXPERT QB CONSENSUS RANK: #17

Lions pass defense is still missing Delmas in the secondary.  Christian Ponder now gets to play with his new toy Jerome Simpson all while the Lions figure out to contain Adrian Peterson.  If Ponder can perform against the 49ers, than he can perform against a defense that just allowed Jake Locker to be fantasy relevant again.

CEDRIC BENSON – RB – GB

MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #8
EXPERT RB CONSENSUS RANK: #15

Saints Defense is soft.  Cedric Benson runs like an animal.  Add the two together and Benson should have one of the easiest games he has ever had.  Especially this season after facing 49ers/Bears/Seahawks.  He is ready to dominate in this one.

WILLIS MCGAHEE – RB – DEN

MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #10
EXPERT RB CONSENSUS RANK: #22

Watcha Benchin Willis?!  You learned your lesson if you made that mistake in Week 2.  He would have been fine last week had he not get injured, but now he is for a very easy matchup against a Raiders defense that will be on their heels all day.  Start Willis with confidence.

STEVEN JACKSON – RB – STL

MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #14
EXPERT RB CONSENSUS RANK: #24

UPDATE NOT 100% – DO NOT START HIM RANKING WILL DROP

I don’t know how Jackson made this list.  I was not even that in love with this matchup to start with, but he will always perform better than a top 25 RB.  No matter what the matchup is, I am excluding last week simply because he did not play 100%.  He was a complete game-time decision all week and somehow made it out there.  Now that he is healthy, and at home.  He becomes Mr. 100 Total Yards.  Even in the tough matchup, rolling the dice if you do not have a better option is not a bad idea.

MATT FORTE – RB – CHI

MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #21
EXPERT RB CONSENSUS RANK: #37

UPDATE NOT 100% – DO NOT START HIM RANKING WILL DROP

Forte is playing, which kills all Michael Bush owners who were counting on him.  Dallas is banged up on their D-Line, and Forte will keep the LB core of Dallas busy all day coming out of the back field.  The 100 Total Yards should be their if he can last the whole game, the TD will be key.

JACQUIZZ RODGERS – RB – ATL

MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #34
EXPERT RB CONSENSUS RANK: #23

Destiny game coming up for JacQuizz.  In my bold predictions I suggested he would be the lead RB for Atlanta by Week 5.  After getting more snaps than Turner last week, and Turner also getting all the garbage time carries.  This is the perfect matchup for Quizz to break out.  The Panthers run D is dreadful, and it will not get easy for them to defend this vertical threat Falcon offense.  JacQuizz owners, something special is about to happen this week.  He will get enough touches to worth starting this week.  Don’t start him for an obvious start, but if you are trying to push some luck.  This is a good roll of the dice.

STEVIE JOHNSON – WR – BUF

MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #4
EXPERT WR CONSENSUS RANK: #15

The Bills/Patriots game is sure to be a high scoring thriller.  Expect Stevie to be very busy as he is quickly emerging as a top 5 Fantasy WR in the league so far.  Fitzpatrick and him have chemistry that you would die for your Fantasy WR to have with his QB.

ERICK DECKER – WR – DEN

MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #10
EXPERT WR CONSENSUS RANK: #22

Raiders secondary is going to have a lot of problems this week.  A lot of problems.  Peyton Manning can pick and choose who gets the TD, and there is always a solid chance in a 3 TD game for Manning this week, Decker should come down with 1 of them.  Do not be afraid to put him in your lineup.

VINCENT JACKSON – WR – TB

MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #14
EXPERT WR CONSENSUS RANK: #17

I know the ERC and my ranking is very similar, but Vincent has the potential to have a monster performance this week.  Do not be surprised to see him go closer to the top 10 as Sunday rolls around.  DeAnglo Hall has trouble guarding good WRs, and this is a prime matchup for Freeman to have a nice solid game.  I would roll the dice with V-Jax aka Mr. Inconsistent.

DESEAN JACKSON – WR – PHI

MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #17
EXPERT WR CONSENSUS RANK: #25

Cam Newton made the Giants Pass defense look a lot better than it really is.  Michael Vick will change that as he throws the deep ball with the best of them.  Desean Jackson has game changer ability, and all it takes is a few deep ones for him to be the MVP of this game.  I would get Desean in your lineup this week, this a great matchup.

NATE BUERLSON – WR – DET

MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #34
EXPERT WR CONSENSUS RANK: #42

Sooner or later, Stafford will get it together.  The fact that he does not have it together and Nate is cosnsitently being a featured WR in this offense.  Chances are it will get really good when Stafford starts to take off.  This is a matchup where the Vikings do not have enough guys in their secondary if they truly want to shut down Megatron.  Look for Nate to be a good sleeper in deeper leagues.

DEVERY HENDERSON – WR – NO

MUNTRADAMUS WR RANK: #44
EXPERT WR CONSENSUS RANK: #78

You really looking for someone to make a huge impact on your squad.  Meet, “Mr. All Or Nothing.”  Henderson is in a prime position for a good game against a defense that will be worried about everything in a shoot out.  Drew Brees loves throwing the deep ball when the defense is not ready for it, and Henderson is truly one of the more underrated deep threats in the game.  All it takes is one, but one is possible.

JERMICHAEL FINLEY – TE – GB

MUNTRADAMUS TE RANK: #3
EXPERT TE CONSENSUS RANK: #8

The Packers are going to score TDs against this Saints Defense.  So many that Finley could easily end up with 1 if not 2.  You never know with TEs to begin with, but it is always a good idea to start the one on a team that will score the most points.  Especially when they are as talented as Finley.

SCOTT CHANDLER – TE – BUF

MUNTRADAMUS TE RANK: #9
EXPERT TE CONSENSUS RANK: #14

If Stevie Johnson does not get 2 TDs.  There is a good chance Scott Chandler comes down with the other.  He made this article last week, and he disappointed 100%.  This is a good revenge game as it should be a high scoring one.

MATT PRATER – K – DEN

MUNTRADAMUS QB RANK: #3
EXPERT QB CONSENSUS RANK: #10

If for some reason Peyton Manning has a tough turning those red zone posseions into TDs.  Than Prater is going to have a historic day.  Regardless the Broncos will be in Radiers territory all game.  Get him in your lineup.

BLAIR WALSH – K – MIN

MUNTRADAMUS QB RANK: #3
EXPERT QB CONSENSUS RANK: #10

The Lions Run D could make this offense stall in the red zone.  If that is the case, than Blair Walsh in for a very exciting week.  If you are starting Ponder this week at QB, make sure you are starting Walsh as your kicker as that will nearly guarantee 30 Points between the two at least.

BRONCOS – D/ST – DEN

MUNTRADAMUS D/ST RANK: #6
EXPERT D/ST CONSENSUS RANK: #15

Carson Palmer tends to think he is a better QB than he actually is.  He forces passes that Tom Brady would even think twice about, which lead to easy INTs which sometimes get returned for TDs.  I would start the Broncos D with confidence in this one as the Raiders will need to put up points to keep up with Peyton.  That is exactly what the Fantasy Doctor ordered for this defense.

BILLS – D/ST – BUF

MUNTRADAMUS D/ST RANK: #12
EXPERT D/ST CONSENSUS RANK: #19

The Bills Defense was built for this matchup right here.  All offseason, all the strategic moves, all to prepare for this game in Buffalo.  Expect the crowd to be electric, expect their to be turnovers, and expect the Bills Defense to rush Tom Brady hard.  Should be an exciting game.

  1. Munt,

Love the site,……..started the season 1-2 in a PPR.
    Just completed 2 blockbusters:

    S. Jax & Fitzgerald (for) AP & Dez

    &

Steve Smith(CAR) & Stafford (for) Julio & Vick

I wanted to see what you thought on the move: Yay or Nay

That gives me: WR’s: Julio, Dez, Sid Rice & Bess
RB’s: AP, Ced Ben, Willis & Powell
    TE’s: Hernandez, Tellus, Chandler
    QB’s: Flacco & Vick

  2. Quizz or Forte? Both seem like a roll of the dice, but I like Quizz’s upside in this game. Thoughts?

  3. So glad I discovered your site, absolutely love the format. I keep going back and forth on which 2 to start this week b/w CJ2Lame, Ryan Williams, Maclin, and Lance Moore. Heck, I’m even debating starting Fred Davis in the flex.

  4. First trade looks to be about even, you come ahead because everyone under-ranked AP and he is a RB.

Second trade in my opinion you got sold on. Both vick and stafford are under-performing, the problem though long term lies with Vick. Stafford will be a more consistant performer if he can get healthy. I don’t think that the addition of Jones over Smith is worth Vick over Stafford- when stafford is healthy he should be your starting QB every week.

  5. Vick scares me but then so does stafford just not as much, like the upgrade from smith to jones, the loss of fitz after his breakout performance with kolb finally may come back to bite but overall i think you did ok.

  6. Would you go with Fred jackson or cj.6k this week?

Also being offered a trade – give Aaron Rodgers and alshon jeffrey, get stafford and marshawn lynch. leaning yes, though love the next couple of weeks for A rod to bring back some value. thoughts?

  7. Hey Munt – AWESOME Site…really appreciate your write ups and congrats on doing so well on FantasyPros so far…Keep it up.

Who do you think I should start: Schaub or Ponder

I’m worried Houston has it too easy, and like you said Foster and Tate put all the td’s up. Not sure if this sways the decision, but my opponent has Detroit D (if ponder falls flat I’d be doubly hurt?)

  8. Muntra,

I am the lucky soul who grabbed Jacquizz in my leagues. My question is do I start him or Alfred Morris (vs Tampa) this week?

    Thanks in Advance!

  9. I know many joke about this…but I would start almost ANYONE over CJ(insert embarrassing number here)k. If Fred jackson is your best bet, I would roll with him because I truly couldn’t stomach watching CJ again.

  10. What is Barden’s value now that Hicks is doubtful? Pick him up and start over any of these guys?

    N.Washington
    D.Amendola
    A.Hawkins

  11. Unofficial Congrats!!! On being #1. Best website by far to go along with your expert predictions. I believe you talked me into the Quizz-man over Steven Jackson.

  12. Hey Muntra,

Based on your rankings, I’m starting Benson, Martin & McGahee with Jackson, Jacquizz and Murray on the bench. Agree?

  13. Hey Munt……What 3 rbs shouldi start this week? Willis Mcgahee, Jacquizz Rodgers, Andre Brown, Mikel Leshoure, Bilal Powell…. 0.5 PPR…..Thanks!!

  14. Who should I start at running back: Foster (for sure), Leshoure, Sproles, quizz Rodgers, Forte or Andre Brown? Help Please!

  15. Hey Munt….I need to start 3 rbsthis week…0.5 ppr mcgahee, andre brown, jacquizz, leshoure, powell

  16. What’s up Munts?? I’m a loyal fan of your site.

I’m 1-2 and in desperate need of a win. I’m conflicted on who to start @ flex.

    2wr,2rb and 1 flex.

I have Marshall/ Jennings @ WR. Martin/McGahee and Ridley @ RB. I also have Forte and Quizz in my pants.

I already started T.Smith @ WR (winning) so I have a WR slot, 2 RB slots and a flex.

I was thinking about starting Martin, McGahee and Ridley @ RB and Jennings @ WR.

    Whatcha thinking Muntradamus??

    Thanks in advance.

  18. He has rankings…why would you ask him who to start over who if the man posts rankings? It’s clear who he would start…look at the rankings

  19. Hi Munt,

your advice has gotten me, a first time fantasy player and not an avid football fan, to a great start. thank you.

so heres the team all composed of Munt favorites

    QB
    Matt Ryan
    Romo

    RB
    Arian Foster
    Willis McGahee
    Steven Jackson
    Cedric Benson
    Jaquizz Rodgers
    Andre Brown

    WR
    Marques Colston
    Miles Austin
    Pierre Garcon
    Brandon LaFell

    TE
    Jason Witten
    Brandon Pettigrew

So the trade i received was for my Steven Jackson and Pierre Garcon in exchange for Brandon Marshall and Ben Tate. I think its a good trade for me . i get a huge upgrade for WR but lose a startable RB but do get my insurance for my precious Arian Foster. thoughts?

  20. should i trade mikel leshoure for chris johnson? or trade mendenhall for chris johnson? or keep leshoure and mendy?

  21. Desean has a lot more upside as it will take is one ball to probably beat Murrays whole night.

The safer choice is Murray, the more upside is Jackson.

  22. If you can get Chris Johnson for Medenhall. Pull the trigger instantly.

Medenhall will have to battle and earn that #1 RB spot. He may not be full strength, CJ has much more upside.

  23. Thanks Snow

    I would go:

    WR: Marshall
    FLEX: Jennings

    RB: Martin
    RB: McGahee

I expect the Patriots to throw a lot Sunday leaving Ridley a bit dicey this week.

  24. Hixon is healthy this week, he is a threat to make some sort of impact leaving Barden on the bottom of that list.

  25. Thanks Walrus.

Both are ranked right #8 and #9. If you want to go based off of that, Schaub has a bit more upside.

Ponder could have a monster week though, and that could be the difference in beating your opponent.

  26. You made two wonderful trades.

I am not a huge fan of Dez, and the next to do would upgrade him. Maybe he will have a big Monday Night to give you some extra boosted value.
