ARIAN STATE OF MIND
(WAIVER WIRE WEEK 10)
BEAST DOME NATION.
There we all were. Watching Fitzmagic and Arian driving down the field, Arian got the handoff and started limping right away. He goes down, throws his helmet and you know his day is done. Before anyone of the BEAST DOME NATION was really afraid this was a long-term injury, we have all gotten to know Arian and his Melo Dramatic attititude. Nobody was really that worried, but we were all curious if Fitzmagic can lead the Texans to a win, which he could not.
Now we head into the Week 10 Bye Week, also known as BLACK SUNDAY for a lot of us since we are all on life support with the bye weeks. Below are the players to add on your roster who will become players you need to pull off the Week 10 miracle on the field.
WAIVER WIRE WEEK 10
ALFRED BLUE – RB – HOU
Blue should be your first priority off the Wire. He is of course on a Bye Week, but he is also the insurance play to Arian Foster, and there is still a lot of season left. Grab Alfred Blue even though you will likely not need him as Arian appears to be fine. Still better to be safe than sorry.
KENNY BRITT – WR – STL
The matchup is not great this week against the Cardinals, but Kenny Britt is going to be a vital part of the Rams passing game to close out the season. I know you may think the Cardinals defense is doing bad against the pass, but the talent is still there in Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie. The schedule starts to get really nice starting Week 12, and he could be your #3 WR in all leagues for the stretch run.
CHARLES SIMS – RB – TB
Remember when I had everyone Buy-Low on Doug Martin, well he got injured again after that moment and his stock has tumbled to a new low. Charles Sims is likely going to be a featured back at some point this season with Doug Martin being a change of pace role. It is too bad that Dougie got injured as his potential is the same as a true RB #1. Next season he will be on a different team and it will be a different story. For now, add Sims.
CHARLES CLAY – TE – MIA
The TE position has been a crapshoot this season outside of the original Top 5. Even Vernon Davis is struggling to a whole new level. Charles Clay appears to have locked down the #2 target role on this team outside of Mike Wallace, and his speed at the TE position really sets him apart. If you need the TE, Clay is the way to go.
DALLAS COWBOYS – D/ST- DAL
Cowboys get the Jaguars this week. There is no reason you should do whatever it takes to get them on your roster, it helps that they play the game in London where Rookie QB Blake Bortles will likely not be able to up to the pressure of an International game. Grab Dallas D.
MONTEE BALL vs. RONNIE HILLMAN
Ronnie Hillman is doing all the things Montee Ball was not coming close to doing this season. The appendix issue in training camp for Montee appeared to be a bigger deal than most of us thought as his same power is not there. When Montee comes back, he will be part of the rotation, but his leash is very short as the Broncos are more than happy with what Hillman is bringing to them. Moving forward, Montee will need to be BIG to close out the season or he could risk being on the bench next season. Ronnie Hillman has officially sealed the job as his, even though all the Broncos RBs including Anderson/Thompson have all looked good when their number is called. I would not drop Montee yet, but his days are numbered.
RGIII MOVING FORWARD
RGIII is going to be fine to close out the season. He is running, he is throwing deep passes on the money, he is looking like the RGIII of old, and his schedule shapes up really nicely to close out the season. I will be using him as my QB #1 when he returns off the bye. Right now I am debating between Joe Flacco and Michael Vick as my two QBs to take over my Week 10 Bye Problem. While part of me wants to roll with Vick, Joe Flacco is throwing the ball 40+ Times a game, and he should be able to tear up the Titans Secondary at home. Joe Flacco is your Week 10 answer.
