This is it. This is worth all the marbles for me and Fantasy Baseball 2023. It is always considered a good year when your Fantasy Baseball season still matters in September, the icing on the cake is taking home the Championship. I have one BEST BALL Team left that can win $10,000. Not bad considering I had only 1 team on DK in this tournament.
Now my squad will play in Weekly Tournaments for the next 4 Weeks to determine if it is the Fantasy Baseball Championship roster.
While you look and marvel at the team, the real pressing issue to me is how the Angels and Ohtani played out this baseball season. When the Angels decided not to trade Ohtani at the Deadline, it was a very bold move as the Angels could have received anybody they wanted. Instead they kept Ohtani, and within days of the trade deadline found themselves basically out of the playoff race. To make matters worse, the Angels agreed to pitch Ohtani at less than 100%, which will now result in off-season surgery on his pitching arm.
Ohtani was scheduled to make $600 Million, now estimates have dropped to $400 Million in Free Agency next season. If the Angels really wanted to make things right with Ohtani, they would offer him that $600 Million. We will see what ends up happening, chances are he leaves the Angels. All Ohtani has to do is look down the dugout to see the career of Mike Trout and how staying loyal to the Angels is likely going to cost Trout of being the best baseball player of All-Time (Minus Barry Bonds). Ohtani still has plenty of years left to not only be one of the greatest hitters in baseball, but in mind, can convert into one of the best closers in baseball.
With that being said, this is my BEAST Ball team. Time to take it home. As one sports season closes, another begins.
