THE RETURN OF JOEY BATS (JOSE BAUTISTA)
BEAST DOME NATION.
It is not very often, that one of the best HR hitters in our last 5 years will be on any Waiver Wires. Considering that this player is about to Qualify at 3B, it never happens. However it is happening.
Jose Bautista who is owned in 8% of CBS Leagues is probably a Free Agent in yours. The Braves just signed Bautista to go to the minors and get his swing back, on top of it all learn to play 3B again. A position that Jose is very familiar with in his career as he has played that position 394 times.
Last year was bad for Jose and the Blue Jays in general. Josh Donaldson was off and on injured, Troy Tulowitzki had his last days of being relevant, and Edwin Encarnacion who was such a vital part of that Franchise was moved on to Cleveland. The Jays finished a horrible season, and so did Jose.
The number that strikes out the most to me, is the 2017 Strikeout total at 170. Just trying to do to much, never finding his groove and playing on a team that was getting crushed game after game. The negative energy probably weighed Jose very heavily.
Now he gets fresh life. He goes to an exciting young Atlanta team who could be calling Acuna up at the same time as Jose making it to the majors. The NL East seems to be wide open at the moment as the Nationals struggle from consistency and trail the Mets. Phillies have shown upside but they have been losing to Atlanta. With Miami being the punching bag of the division, Braves have a chance to make something happen with a prety weak pitchin staff that was relying on Anibal Sanchez before he hit the DL.
As soon as Jose is showing that HR swing, the Braves are calling him up to the show. Playing in the big leagues, Jose still has 20+ HR potential and a winning enviornment can do wonders to his game. If Curtis Granderson can bounce back to be fantasy relevant, so can Jose Bautista.
ADD JOSE IN ALL LEAGUES
20+ HR this season at the 3B Position is too good to pass up.
