Daily Pitcher Rankings (May 1st)

By Muntradamus

I picked the right closer 13 of the 26 games this season.  How about that for success rate.  We are going to start fresh with all records for this Month, and with the new cleaner ranking system we will keep track daily.

HOT HITTERS:

  • Bryan LaHair – .419 Average. 3 HR. 8 RBI. Last 10 Games.

  • Adrian Beltre – .409 Average. 2 HR. 6 RBI. Last 5 Games.

  • Edwin Encarnacion – .583 Average. 4 HR. 8 RBI. 1 SB. Last 4 Games.

  • Josh Reddick – .450 Average. 2 HR. 6 RBI. Last 5 Games.

  • David Ortiz – .405 Average. 5 HR. 10 RBI. Last 10 Games.

PREDICTIONS

Hitter of the day: Nelson Cruz @ Tor

Sleeper Pitcher of the day: Felix Doubront vs. Oak

Closer of the day: Sean Marshall vs. CHC

Lock of the day: Felix Doubront vs. Oak

SALARY CAP TEAM:

C: Matt Wieters – Against Phil Hughes and a hit in 7 of the last 8 games.  I like his chances for a HR.
1B: Chris Davis –
Davis is hot and Phil Hughes will give him something to hit.
2B: Howie Kendrick –
I like Howie against Liriano who should put plenty of runners on base and RBI opportunities.
SS: Jhonny Peralta –
Peralta is due to bounce back, and Hocheaver is due to give up a big game.
3B: Mark Trumbo –
Trumbo kills lefties, and a struggling lefty like Liriano should result into a huge game.
OF: B.J. Upton –
1 HR. 8 RBIs. 1 SB. .387 average, he is hot enough for me in his first 9 games.
OF: Nelson Cruz –
May have his power streak starting to get ready, and Hutchinson is a good pitcher to face.
OF: Brennan Boesch –
Hocheaver is not hot, and Boesch may be the best hitter on the Tigers right now.  Take him.
UTI: Coco Crisp –
Crisp is heating up, and I will start him against Doubront.
UTI: Pedro Alvarez –
Pedro is the hottest hitting 3B option in baseball, take him against Wainwright.
SP: Matt Cain –
Safe pitcher to dominate a pretty cold Marlins offense.
SP: Felix Doubront –
The Red Sox offense is doing enough to carry Queen Felix in the start.
SP: Shaun Marcum –
If you have not noticed by my rankings, I love pitching people against SD.
RP: Jason Motte –
Look for STL to get something going against Pittsburgh and Motte should get the save.
