Through the first month of the MLB Season, Patrick Corbin has been an ACE. Strike out after Stike Out, Win after Win, Corbin is possibly the best pitcher in the NL West as of now.
The question remains, is Corbin going to keep this up? Is he the real deal?
First thing I want to point out, his first 5 starts were against NL West teams and he dominated them. His last start against the Nationals, not horrible allowing 3 ER in 6.2 INN to go along with 7 Ks, but not good enough to be the best pitcher in the NL West like his stats indicate right now. The more games Arizona does not face the weak hitting NL West where quite frankly, none of those offenses are a threat outside of Colorado in Colorado.
So while he will still face the NL West a lot this year being that is his division, you will start see his numbers fade back to normal once he starts facing more teams outside the NL West. With that being said, he faces the Dodgers twice in his next 2 starts, (Two great matchups), then he faces the Athletics/Mets/Marlins, all teams he can likely dominate.
