FANTASY PLAYER WATCH: Chad Ochocinco

FANTASY PLAYER WATCH: Chad Ochocinco

By Muntradamus

*Ochocinco got hurt Friday in pratice.  The WR who took his place Underwood dropped a TD in his lone target.

“Price was expected to see an increased role in the absence of Chad Ochocinco, but instead saw himself out-targeted by Tiquan Underwood (who muffed a possible touchdown on his only look of the night). Price remains out of sight, out of mind in redraft leagues. Nov 27 – 9:07 PM”

Not only is Ochy the Sleeper of the week, he is the WR to claim off of the waiver wires this week.  Wes Welker will see good corners all game in week 12 vs. Philly giving him not great odds to have a huge game, he is also a little beat up.  Deion Branch is way too slow for any of the Eagles corners, if Mario Mannigham only gets 1 catch how many would you expect 32 year old fossil Branch to get.  I like Ocho to reach double digit fantasy points against a Philly secondary that will be too concerned with other options.

Torry Holt talked about when he was with the Patriots, the offense was very complex and that even the hall of fame WR was having problems learning it.  With barely any offseason it was hard for Ocho to get on the same page and he has fallen from potential #2 WR, to #5 receiving option when on the field after the names of Welker, Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Branch.

And this is a good thing against when it comes to playing the Eagles. Philly doesn’t cover 3rd WRs well at all.

#3 WR Performances vs. Philly

Victor Cruz 6 128 1. Laurent Robinson 5 103 1. Earl Bennett 5 95. Josh Morgan 3 65 1. Brandon Gibson 3 50.

Even Brandon Gibson reached the half century mark against this secondary.

#2 WR Performances vs. Philly

B. Edwards 0 0. Sims walker 1 5. Julio Jones 2 29. David Nelson 1 6 1. Jabar Gaffney 2 55. Dez Bryant 3 28. Desean Jackson 2 16. Doucet 2-24-1. Mannigham 1 4.

I can see Branches name appearing in this list.

#1 WR Performances vs Philly.  Lets take it one step further

S.Johnson 4-29.  Nicks 3-25.  Nicks 3-69.  R.White 3-23-1.  Austin 3-27. S Moss 3-28.  Amendola 5-45.

Not saying Welker is going to have a bad game, I just wouldn’t be surprised if he had one of his weaker games.

After a big game against Philly, who wouldn’t want to own arguably the most explosive weapon in Foxboro who will help Tom Brady get his first 5,000 yard season with a very easy schedule to close out the season.  Why else was he drafted before round 10 back in August.

Take a look at what Brady did for Deion.

Deion Branch stats before with Seattle 4 games (Started 3 of them) 13 112 1.  That projects out to a 52 catch 448 4TD  #5 Fantasy WR at best.

Deion Branch stats after when he was revived with Brady 48 706 5 in 11 games.  That projects out to a 69 1027 7 season.  Easily WR2 type numbers.  Amazing for a 31 year old WR to get traded mid season from one of the worst football teams and not even starting, to being the #2 WR on the best football team (offensively) and becoming fantasy relevant.

the time is now to add Ocho, he has the matchup and he has the Quarterback, if he would of scored Monday Night vs KC everyone would no doubt consider the move..always remember.

just like Twista & Kanye, Tom Brady will turn you into a fantasy superstar overnight.
