WENTZ UPON A TIME (WEEK 4)

With it being Thursday, Here is a Throwback Thursday Clip with my thoughts on Melvin Gordon and Zeke Elliot.  EAGLES @ PACKERS

The Packers have been getting so lucky as of late. Yes they are 3-0, but it is only because the other team is beating themselves every single week. Trubisky playing like a Rookie Week 1, Cousins playing like a Rookie Week 2, and then Week 3 was filled with Broncos turnovers. Is the Packers defense really that good? The tape says no. Open WRs every week, not great run D. Now the Packers have a real challenge. They are facing a strong Eagles offense that has weapons, and a QB that is better than all the rest they have faced. Look for Wentz to hit all of his targets (Ertz/Alshon/Agholor) while Sanders and Howard continue to tear up the Packers. Darren Sproles still has some skill in the tank, but in the end this Eagles offense is locked and loaded and going to score points.

With that being, Aaron Rodgers has to produce. Yes the Aaron Rodgers who is handing the ball off more than he is throwing it feels like these days. Aaron Jones has been nice and productive, same with Jamaal Williams. Both players can run, but this Eagles Front 7 is very underrated. While the Eagles secondary does have talent, they have been getting exposed a little more than they should. Look for Aaron Rodgers to try to expose them again and this be the game where he really gets people going. Davante Adams is of course going to get the looks, but Rodgers really needs one of MVS or Allison to step up in the passing game to open things up for this offense. In the end, the Eagles Defense has to find their groove since their Super Bowl run a couple years back. Jim Schwartz is afraid to blitz and Rodgers welcomes blitzes more than most QBs. Look for Rodgers to do what he can to keep his team in the game.

Because the Packers are at home, Rodgers has the edge. If this game in Philadelphia I would have gone Eagles, Home team in a short week, coming off an easy Win, while the Eagles scratched and clawed at a horrible home loss against the Lions, I will give it to Green Bay.

However I expect Wentz to really expose this Packers defense for what they really are. Because of that, Eagles get the Win.
