FANTASY FOOTBALL STRATEGY TE VOL 2
By Muntradamus

MOCK DRAFT VIDEO. SORRY FOR MIC QUALITY, watch on very low volume or No sound. I do a few 12 man snakes and then a cpuple 10 man snakes. We will do a LIVE draft together next week.

Fantasy Football TE Strategy VOL 1

It is nice to go back in time and look at our original blue print strategy with getting Gronkowski no matter what as a 2nd Round Pick. Earlier this Summer he was falling to Round 3, now he is becoming a cornerstone 2nd Round Pick in all leagues.

While Gronk is important, it is much more important to get one of those 8 RBs in the 1st Round. So I cannot boost him to that group. If you miss those 8 RBs in the 1st Round, grab Devonta Freeman and pair him up with Tevin Coleman in Round 4, grabbing Edelman in Round 5.
GRONK IS STILL 2nd ROUND PICK (AFTER Top 8 RBS)
GURLEY/BELL/ZEKE/GORDON/DAVID JOHNSON/FOURNETTE/SAQUON/KAMARA

So it comes back to you in Round 2, Gronk is GONE. What do you do?

Do not sacrafice the early part of the strategy to get a Jimmy Graham or Greg Olsen. While those guys are good, 6-8 Fantasy Points a game from them at TE will not win you Championships. For that think about TE later. Bump the strategy, either Mixon or McCoy at RB. If a star WR is there like Davante Adams, grab Adams. Devonta Freeman is the #1 2nd Round Target if you miss Gronk. If you miss all those guys, grab Doug Baldwin.

*NOTE if you end up with Davante Adams. Might as well draft RB Round 3/Graham Round 4/Edelman Round 5/Cobb Round 6, then hit up the QB Strategy. All in on Aaron Rodgers Passing Yards with no risk plus a big taste of Brady.*

Right now as far as sleepers at TE. Jordan Reed is the #1 guy who comes to my mind as far as value. Jordan Reed is usually the 10th TE drafted off the board, I would target him after 6 to 7 TEs have been drafted. Alex Smith loves his TEs.

However keep in mind, I would not target Jordan Reed before the QB action. Much more important to get Big Ben/Jared Goff. Much more important to get Texans Defense. Much more important to get Devontae Booker (who is moving up quickly on draft boards).
DEEP SLEEPERS
So you missed Gronk & Jordan Reed. What to do?

First look for Kyle Rudolph, hope that he fell a bit. Truth is once Kyle Rudolph is drafted, that is when you should start making Jordan Reed a priority, but in case it happens in reverse.
KYLE RUDOLPH – MIN (TE AVERAGE RANK #8)
Kyle has never shown the potential to be the star that he was supposed to be. The new addition of Kirk Cousins does help as he has a lot more talent than Case Keenum, but Rudolph runs into a similar problem he dealt with the past couple of season. Being behind Adam T and Diggs as far as targets. Adding Kendall Wright the great slot WR does not help either. Dalvin Cook is ready to be a stud and the consistency or production from Rudolph is to random to depend on in season leagues. Maybe if there was an injury to one of those WRs, Rudolph can sneak into the Top 5. However as it stands now, Rudolph just wont be the TE he was supposed to be.
IF YOU MISS JORDAN REED & KYLE RUDOLPH

BEN WATSON – NO (ECR RANK TE #22 vs. Munt Rank TE #10)
Watson is back in New Orleans and is only one year removed from a 74 catch/825 Yard Season. Watson is also 37 Years old and is definitely on what could be the last legs of his career. Still a BEAST, Watson will be a nice pass catching option in a very talented Drew Brees offense. Watson will likely not reach those numbers he reached two years ago as Cameron Meredith will take a lot of slot work, and Alvin Kamara is going to get a lot of quick throws that Watson was getting back then. Mike Thomas has also stepped his game up to another level since they were last together.

Regardless Watson has some nice upside and is an okay option for the most desperate of owners who needs a starter and missed on all the talent.
JARED COOK – OAK
(ECR RANK TE #19 vs. Munt Rank TE #12)
Cook has a lot of talent, but so does the Raiders offense. Derek Carr is stacked with so many WR options as well as 2 RBs who could probably carry it 15x a game each. Cook will have some nice moments this season, but all in all his consistency is not likely to be there and he is really nothing more than a good check down option.
THE PRESEASON WATCH LIST
Someone else we may consider is Antonio Gates. He seems he could be a TD or nothing type of guy but if all reports show him in shape, Gates could be a nice guy to mix with this bunch. ASJ could make a comeback as well. I also want to see how the Colts use Ebron/Doyle. If Ebron plays the slot, he could easily be the guy that I want everyone to draft.
