Brock Purdy is a great person, a great story, and a solid QB. Is he overhyped? The answer is yes.

There is no doubt that he is a GREAT game manager, but last week he showed that he really is only just a game manager, and not Tom Brady. Christian McCaffery is the star of this offense and he makes everyone on that team better. He allows Aiyuk to not see saftey help over the top, he allows Kittle to roam in single coverage in mismatches, he allows Deebo to only have one guy he has to get past in order to have a big play. He also allows Brock to see a defense that is completely off-balanced as they are worried about the run more than the pass.

Last week for the first time all year, the 49ers decided that Brock Purdy was the star of this team, and they were going to win the game through the air. A terrible decision by Kyle Shanahan. What am I talking about you ask?

First Drive for the 49ers. 6 Plays, 1 Carry for CMC. Punt

Second Drive for the 49ers. 12 Plays, 4 Carries for CMC. TD

Third Drive for the 49ers. 11 Plays, 4 Carries for CMC. FG

In the first half, the 49ers threw the ball on 20 of the 29 plays, only up 7-6 at halftime.

You would think they would switch things up.

Fourth Drive for the 49ers. 3 Plays, 0 CMC carries. Punt

5th Drive for the 49ers. 4 Plays, 3 CMC. CMC TD.

Wow who would of thought feeding CMC more would result into a great result?!

Surely they would continue to feed CMC more going forward.

6th Drive for the 49ers. 3 Plays, 1 CMC carry. Punt. Kyle Shanahan, 0 IQ.

7th Drive. Starting at midfield thanks to INT. 7 Plays. 0 CMC, FG. 0 IQ.

8th Drive. 8 Plays. First 3 CMC, First Down. Then no more plays to him and a punt. 0 IQ.

9th Drive. Game Winning Drive. 12 Plays. 6 to CMC. CMC TD for the win.

The 49ers are such a better team when they rely on CMC to carry the squad as opposed to Brock playing Point Guard of the offense. To me the dumbest play call of all time was when they started the second half with Jauan Jennings at RB where Deebo would lineup, and actually gave the ball to Jennings on a carry.

If the 49ers think Brock is going to beat the Lions with a similar script as above, the Lions will escape with a Super Bowl appearance.
