FANTASY FOOTBALL RJ HARVEY ROOKIE PROFILE BEAST OR BUST

FANTASY FOOTBALL RJ HARVEY
ROOKIE PROFILE BEAST OR BUST
By Muntradamus
BEAST DOME NATION.
Maybe the most shocking thing to me this Summer was when I started to do Live Drafts for the first time after my Fantasy Football Boot Camp. The most shocking thing to me was seeing RJ Harvey being drafted as a RB in the #20 Range. When I went through Denver, RJ Harvey was the last RB I was counting on to be a Fantasy impact player. J.K. Dobbins was just brought in, and he looked rejuvenated with the Chargers a season ago. On top of that McLaughlin returned and Baddie/Estime were two Broncos rookies a year ago who had some hype on their name were still on the roster.
I decided to wait until I watched a preseason game to decide if my harsh Ranking of RJ Harvey was justified. After seeing the Broncos preseason opener against the 49ers, I am very sure RJ Harvey is a BUST in his Rookie season.
First I will compliment Harvey. He has electric speed, he has the ability to break some weak arm tackles when coming off the edge. As good as that compliment is, the truth is the opportunity will not be there for Harvey.
Dobbins looked good, he showed he can catch the ball, and he can put his head down. While some may argue that Harvey got the start, well that is only because it is a preseason game. Dobbins looked more than capable of showing that he can compete with Harvey one-on-one to be the lead back. For Harvey it only gets worst.
McLaughlin who was arguably the best RB the Broncos had last season looked very explosive. Nearly took the top off the defense for a long TD run, but was called back. Tyler Baddie looked better than Harvey running with speed and aggression up the middle. As good as Harvey looked, you can tell he is not a physical runner. Speaking of physical runners, Estime looked like a bowling ball in great shape.
The cherry on top was RB Blake Watson for the Broncos who looked the best out of all the RBs in the Broncos preseason opener. While Watson may not make the Broncos, you can guarantee he showed enough where some team will pick him up and he can instantly be inserted as a 3rd down RB.
At the end of the day, RJ Harvey is not going to get his opportunity to be a Fantasy Football BEAST as a Rookie and drafting him is a very quick way to ruin your season before it begins.
