Can you imagine spending a 1st or 2nd Round Pick on a RB that may not even lead his team in carries every week of the season? That is the Rookie mistake any Fantasy owner is doing in 2021 when spending a very high draft pick on Austin Eekler this season.

What we learned this preseason is that not only is Justin Jackson a threat to steal carries away, but it seems like Joshua Kelley, who some compare to Kareem Hunt, is even more at risk to steal carries away from Ekeler. Considering this is a long season and Ekeler really was not the same RB at all after coming back from injury in 2020, drafting him so high seems ridiculous.

BUT HE CAN CATCH PASSES!

In one point PPR there is definitely upside in his game, but there will be a lot of weeks where he has less than 40 yards rushing and less than 50 yards through the air with no TD. Keyword is a lot of weeks, there is no reason to burn such a valuable pick on a player that is really not that good.
