MATTHEW GOLDEN BEAST OR BUST

Packers had a good offense last season. Jordan Love took a step forward, Josh Jacobs was a great fit, there is promise in Green Bay. With their first round pick, they selected a WR in Matthew Golden.

First glance at Golden is he has good speed, good route running ability, and good hands. He might be a little small, but nothing that will ruin his career. The Packers do not need a WR, yet they drafted one. Romeo Doubs/Jayden Reed/Dontayvion Wicks and Christian Watson is a solid WR core. All four WRs do everything a QB would need, and arguably a lot of QBs would love to have this core. Matthew Golden does not fit into this equation.

When you looked at our last WR we analyzed in Emeka, we see the same thing in Golden. A team that does not need a WR, but here they are stacking an already good WR core with another good WR. Golden is in a worst position than Emeka, because these WRs the Packers already have are very talented and run 4 deep. Maybe Emeka can find his way to being the #3 in Tampa, but that is not likely either with McMillan looking so good.
