KERRYON MY WAYWARD SWIFT
BEAST DOME NATION.
We heard it time and time again. Kerryon Johnson is the future RB for the Lions, a guy who can catch the ball like Marshall Faulk, and run the ball like Faulk? Not really. The Lions have seen two years from Kerryon who has failed to stay healthy. Maxing out at 4 TDs/season, and never reaching more than 10 games played. Kerryon has shown great potential at times, but the Lions are done with potential they need a superstar.
The Lions grabbed one with a Cheat Code in the 2nd Round.
Why so many teams passed on him is amazing. Before the Draft started I was going to write a featured article on D’Andre Swift. Talk about how he could be the next Saquon Barkley and so much more. Decided after careful consideration that if he landed on the right spot with zero competition, that would be giving up too much info and could lead to an easy slam dunk piece of the Draft Strategy. Truth is, he still might be. I am sure people are letting Swift go nearly undrafted if not super late.
The Lions still love their boy Kerryon when he can stay healthy. As a rookie do not be surprised to see a 50/50 split with Kerryon and Swift, but it will not take long before that turns into a 70/30 split with Swift leading the way. Swift does everything better than Kerryon and is so much more explosive.
D’Andre is a BEAST. He will start the season as a RB4 and end the season as a RB2. Definitely someone to invest in for the later rounds, the Lions have a toy in Swift.
