FANTASY FOOTBALL GOING AGAINST THE FIELDS

FANTASY FOOTBALL
GOING AGAINST THE FIELDS

BEAST DOME NATION.
The New York Jets, easily one of the most laughable franchises of the past decade. From the Zach Wilson experiment, to the team blaming Aaron Rodgers for not panning out even though their defense last season could not stop a High School Football team. This year the Jets are confident all their problems are fixed because they grabbed Justin Fields to be their QB.
Justin Fields came into the league with promise, but that is all he has had is promise in his four year career which feels much longer. In Chicago he ran a lot, but also got injured a lot. In Pittsburgh he was doing okay, but he was not really getting the ball to this WRs enough, so Russell Wilson took over and was the starting QB the rest of the season. Fields does not do things conventionally. A conventional QB will be a QB and throw the ball to this WRs. Justin Fields is more of a RB playing QB. While that may sound okay for Fantasy Football, it really is not.
There will be games where Fields runs a little wild might even approach 100 yards on an amazing day, but more likely he is going to stay in that 50 yard range. The Jets are not going to let Fields take too many goal line TDs away from Breece Hall nor Braelon Allen who appears ready for a larger role at some point in his career. Justin Fields does not even have a great WR core to throw to, outside of Garrett Wilson he is throwing to scrubs. Sure Josh Reynolds had some nice moments in Detroit, but is he really a good #2 WR without a good passing QB. Might as well keep Allen Lazard, two WRs who have the same career path at this point.
The Jets got a new Offensive Coordinator to try to work some magic, the passing game coordinator from the Lions a year ago. The only problem is, the Jets are not really built to be a passing team. It was a bad hiring move by the organization as a QB more situated for this hiring would have been Jared Goff, not a mobile run first Justin Fields. A better fit for Justin Fields is a College OC that will let Justin Fields run wild. The OC for the Nebraska Huskers when Eric Crouch was the QB would be the perfect fit.
They say the New York Jets is where QBs go to die, Justin Fields is on his last legs, and for a QB like Justin Fields, once his legs are gone, his career is gone. The Jets are looking at another losing season, Justin Fields will give the team all he has, but the only problem for Justin Fields who is 26 this year, does not have as much as he has left on the table for the Bears. Fields has only thrown for 300+ Yards in a game twice in his career in 3.5 seasons, if he cannot get that number much higher this could be his last stint as a starter once his 2 Year/$40 Million deal is over. With the WR core the Jets have, and the losing culture that has been installed in this team as of late, I would take the under that this is the last starting gig Justin Fields sees in his future.
