FANTASY FOOTBALL\nDEFENSIVE IMPACT ROOKIES (IDP)\nBy Muntradamus\n\nBEAST DOME NATION.\n\nWhile Defense does not get all the glory that Offense gets in Fantasy Football, it is still just as important. The way to find what players are going to do their things is by figuring out the holes on each team's defense. Let us see if there are any Rookies who will make an impact and make teams stronger.\nNFC WEST\nARIZONA\nCardinals not helping their defense during the draft as their only pick is likely 4th string CB at a 6th Round Pick.\nSAN FRANCISCO\nFRED WARNER - LB\nGood potential but a bit small. Warner will be an outside LB who may have trouble with big NFL RBs. Warner looks more like a good backup than a starter but the 49ers project their 3rd round pick to start.\nLA RAMS\nRams traded all their valuable picks for Brandin Cooks. No moves for Defense on Draft Day.\nSEATTLE\nRASHEEM GREEN - DE\nSeahawks spent a 2nd Round Pick on the former USC Trojan. I am sure Carroll had something to do with that. Green does look like a legit NFL DE and could work his way into the rotation year 1.\nSHAQUEM GRIFFIN - LB\nGreat story of the one handed pass rusher. His brother is on the team as well at CB, Griffin will be thrown into pass rush situations as a Rookie all season long. He does look good and has amazing moves, but he also is very undersized and rushing against 330+ OL when he is just 217, that is a big size differential.\n--\n\r\n\nNFC NORTH\nMINNESOTA\nMIKE HUGHES - CB\nSmart pick by the Vikings to grab a potentially amazing slot Corner in the 1st Round to build on already one of the most dominant secondaries in the NFL. Will not be easy to pass against the Vikings this year or any year.\nGREEN BAY\nJAIRE ALEXANDER - CB\n1st Round Pick, Alexander looks to be a better slot corner than an outside corner. Very quick closing speed, but not a physical guy. Alexander should start from Day 1 for the Packers.\nJOSH JACKSON - CB\n2nd Round Pick, Jackson looks better than Alexander and can easily start day 1. Packers looking to re-model that secondary. Usually not a good idea to build with rookie corners, but these guys can play.\nCHICAGO\nROQUAN SMITH - LB\nBears used the #5 pick to grab a very quick LB who looks like he can get sacks and stop Running Backs who try to beat them through the air. The Bears run a very aggressive defense with their Outside LB's, and we can expec to see Roquan make an impact from day 1.\n\nDefinitely a candidate for IDP Leagues, 8+ Sacks with 80+ Tackles can be there from day 1.\nDETROIT\nNo moves made to their defense on Draft Day.\n--\n\r\n\nNFC SOUTH\nATLANTA\nISAIAH OLIVER - CB\n2nd Round Pick, Oliver might be the #4\/#3 Corner, makes the Falcons a bit better on defense but not someone that should be a HUGE Rookie impact.\nNEW ORLEANS\nMARCUS DAVENPORT - DE\nDavenport looks like a BEAST from Day 1. Jordan Cameron and Marcus will make a dynamic duo that will give the Saints two BEAST pass rushers that is going to make things verytough for other offenses.\n\nPotentially 10+ Sacks as a Rookie puts him on the IDP Radar.\nTAMPA BAY\nVITA VEA - DT\nVita will be a BEAST from day 1. Rookie with the 1st Round Pick looks like Haloti Ngata already, him and McCoy will be lethal. The addition of Vinny Curry and Jason Pierre Paul gives Tampa a really strong Defensive Line.\nCAROLINA\nDONTE JACKSON - CB\nDonte will be the slot corner from Day 1, and he is VERY FAST. Definitely can be out muscled, but his speed looks to keep him on the field.\n--\nNFC EAST\nDALLAS\nLEIGHTON VANDER ESCH - LB\nCowboys used their 1st Round Pick on an Outside LB, and it was not a good pick. Ya Leighton may have been a BEAST in the Mountain West, but he is undersized and it appears big NFL Running Backs will be able to run over him no problem at all. TE's will also have their way with him on passing routes, what Leighton does have is speed.\n\nWhile Leighton can definitely get bigger and stronger over his career, like he will. Rookie Season could be tougher than people think.\nWASHINGTON\nDA'RON PAYNE - DT\nPayne is a BEAST and the Redskins used their 1st Round Pick to grab a player that can be Gerald McCoy good. Redskins need a run stuffer bad and he will start Day 1 next to Ziggy Hood. Last year injuries killed the Redskins LB core and their run D was horrible, this year they are healthy. Payne will make an impact.\nNEW YORK GIANTS\nGiants grabbed some depth players, but no starters during the draft on Defense. Focus was the running game on Draft Day.\nPHILLY\nNo Draft Picks this year for Philly. Their already amazing defense from 2017 got better in the offseason with Free Agent additions.\n--\n\r\n\nAFC WEST\nDENVER\nBRADLEY CHUBB - DE\nChubb will be a Sack Machine from Day 1. Learning from Von Miller will make his career that much more dyanmic. Broncos will be a tough team to defend that pass rush.\n\nIDP 10+ Sacks as a Rookie should be in the bag.\nOAKLAND\nRaiders added some depth during the Draft on Defense, nothing that will make an impact in 2018.\nLA CHARGERS\nDERWIN JAMES - SAFETY\nJames looks like a Pro Bowl caliber player as a Rookie. Chargers have a lot of talent on their defense and James should slide right in and make an impact. Chargers showing they can be a sleeper team this year on Defense.\n\nIDP 80+ Tackles with other stats should be there as a Rookie.\nUCHEENA NWOSU - LB\nNwosu is more of a pass rusher, and when you throw in the Chargers great pass rush combo of Bosa and Ingram already on the team, Chargers are going to be getting to the QB quick. Good pick Nwosu can start from day 1 as the 2nd Round Pick.\nKANSAS CITY\nChiefs did not have a 1st Round Pick but they did draft Depth on the Defensive Line. Chiefs defense does not really on the DEs so much, more of the blitzing LB core. Houston and Ford are healthy.\n--\n\r\n\nAFC EAST\nNEW ENGLAND\nPatriots drafting some depth on Defense during the Draft, nothing that will make an impact in 2018.\nMIAMI\nMINKA FITZPATRICK - SAFETY\nFitzpatrick and Reshead Jones should make a good Safety Combo. Fitzpatrick can definitely play both the Run and the Pass and will look to be a starter from Day 1 as the 1st Round Pick. Fitzpatrick should have a strong NFL Career.\n\nIDP 80+ Tackles should be there as a Rookie as he mostly plays the run.\nNEW YORK JETS\nJets grabbed some depth but no starters on Defense during the Draft.\nBUFFALO\nTREMAINE EDMUNDS - LB\nGreat pick by the Bills, Edmunds looks ready to make an impact from day 1. Great at blitzing and great at making tackles, Edmuns could slide into Middle LB as a Rookie.\n\nIDP 100+ Tackles should be in the book.\n--\n\r\n\nAFC NORTH\nBALTIMORE\nRavens did not draft Defense to help this team out until the 4th Round. All depth plays.\nCLEVELAND\nDENZEL WARD - CB\nBrowns spent the #4 overall pick on Denzel, and he will likely be the #1 corner on day 1. While he does look talented, he is small and based on tape does not look even close to capable of stopping the NFL stars of today.\nPITTSBURGH\nTERRELL EDMUNDS - SAFETY\nGood playmaker who does make plays. Even though the Steelers burned a 1st Round Pick on him, to bench Sean Davis is not a good move. Steelers Secondary needs more corners after Haden, instead of a safety. They should of drafted Josh Jackson (GB 2nd Round Pick) instead.\nCINCY\nBengals got some depth on Defense but no starters. Bengals have been relying on veterans in their defense for a while.\n--\n\r\n\nAFC SOUTH\nHOUSTON\nTexans 1st Pick was in the 3rd Round. Grabbed some Depth on D, but no starters.\nJACKSONVILLE\nTAVEN BRYAN - DT\nJags used their 1st Round Pick on a backup DT. Looks like a way less Joey Bosa, but if the Jags needed him to fill in, they would not be losing a lot.\nTENNESSEE\nRASHAAN EVANS - LB\nVery athletic Freak who will be making plays as a Rookie instantly. The guy is everywhere and he hits hard. Better than Leighton great pick by the Titans.\n\nIDP should be good for 80+ Tackles and 5+ Sacks as a Rookie.\nHAROLD LANDRY - DE\nGreat pass rusher big in stature as well. Might not get a lot of PT but the 2nd Round Pick has a great future and the Titans Defense got stronger with this pick.\nINDY\nDARIUS LEONARD - LB\nColts need all the help they can get on defense, and Leonard the 2nd Round Pick will be a viable IDP option from day 1. Looks better than the Cowboys Leighton and Leonard will be making plays all around the field.\n\nIDP 100+ Tackles as a Rookie is possible. Colts D decided not to do much in the offseason.
