Fantasy Football: Cedric Benson to the Packers Outlook

Fantasy Football: Cedric Benson to the Packers

By Muntradamus

Obviously this means James Starks is already the Bust of the Season if you drafted himCedric Benson did not sign with the Packers to be a backup RB, and he gives the Packers their best RB since the days before Ryan Grant was a starter.  I would go as far to say as Ahman Green.

With the Packers, you can except Cedric Benson to be an easy bet for 10 TDs.  Defenses have to worry about Aaron Rodgers in the red zone and all of his lethal threats.  Aaron Rodgers is one of the best Red Zone QBs of all time!
The last two seasons Cedric Benson has been very consistent.

2010. 16 Games: 321 Carries.  1111 Yards. 3.5 Average Per Carry. 7 TDS.
2011: 15 Games: 273 Carries. 1067 Yards. 3.9 Average Per Carry. 6 TDs.

In 2012 I predicted Cedric Benson to have: 220 Carries. 946 Yards. 4.3 Average Per Carry. 11 TDs.

Benson will not have to face stacked boxes like he did every season with the Bengals.  The Packers will be in the Red Zone very frequently, and on top of that the Packers will be killing clock in the 4th Quarter.  Benson will prove that he is still a BEAST, and could be a low-end Marshawn Lynch option.

Check out where Cedric Benson and James Starks rank among all RBs this season in the BEAST DOME RB DRAFT GUIDE.

  1. My team after some trading, a few pick ups and a few injuries later my team is not looking so strong for a 12 team league anymore. Are there any players I should drop for available free agents? Possibly a trade package you see?

    Quarterback: Tom Brady, Andy Dalton

Wide Reciever: Brandon Llioyd, Jordy Nelson. Mike Williams, Denarious Moore,

Running Back: Ryan Mathews, Doug Martin, Ahmad Bradshaw, Jacquizz Rodgers, Ronnie Brown

    Tight End: Jared Cook

    Kicker: Alex Henery

    Defense: Houston Texans

I have an empty spot to pick up one player and here are available names:

Evan Royster, Isiah Pead, Randall cobb, Brandon Lafell, Terrell Owens, or other suggestions?

  2. Cedric Benson would be an ELITE move for your team if you can grab him.

I would also look to Sell Ahmad Bradshaw. The Giants RB situation is not looking so great for him this year.

If Benson is not around, Chad Johnson or Steve Smith (STL) are really nice sleepers. Love that you have Jacquizz.
