Every Year for the past few years, I have an article out about Cam Newton either having a bad week or someone you need to trade away etc. This week, is because he is my BUST OF THE WEEK.
SUPER CAM
Gotta love Cam Newton and watching him play. The way he controls a NFL game as QB is something really special. He is running more than ever it seems like in 2018 with all the protection rules against hard hits, and Cam is loving the system that Norv Turner has put in place. While Cam is not having the biggest numbers, he is looking like a QB that is going to win a lot of games.
The problem with Cam this season on a Fantasy level, he is not good at throwing the ball down the field. He can hit the comeback routes, he can hit the crossing routes. He cannot hit WRs 15+ Yards down the field and it is a problem. The throws are wild and if it was not for Josh Allen, Cam would be one of the least accurate passers in the league.
You know that hungry Eagles Secondary in Philly is ready to pounce on any mistake Cam Newton makes. With heavy winds, Cam throwing the ball down the field will not be an option. Funchess will have trouble getting open against Mills, and Olsen/CMC will be the only thing he can do on the checkdown. Cam can always save himself running with the Football, but to expect Cam Newton to be vintage Cam this week, you are kidding yourself. Especially on the road with that vicious pass rush that wants to hit Cam as hard as they can.
