FANTASY FOOTBALL BEAST OR BUST ROOKIE PROFILE

ZACH CHARBONNET

By Muntradmaus

BEAST DOME NATION.

After Rashad Penny went down for the Seahawks in 2022, I told everyone to go all in for KW3 (Kenneth Walker III). The result for KW3 was an automatic RB1, however health was not all the way there all season from start to finish. He managed to play through his pain and tough everything out when it was all said and done, which is impressive for a player you want to rely upon.

With Rashad Penny gone, the Seahawks had to fill the void and give KW3 another RB he can split some time with. Which resulted in the Seahawks taking Zach Charbonnet in the second round out of UCLA.

While Zach is a very talented RB, he has good speed, he has good vision, great cutback ability, can catch the ball, he even has some power in his big body style. However, everything that Zach has, Kenneth Walker III can do way better and a lot more explosive. Charbonnet will definitely get on the field because the Seahawks need to keep KW3 healthy as much as possible, but this is not a RBBC like some “Experts” think. Some even Rank Charbonnet as a Top 33 RB which is crazy.

Charbonnet is nothing more than a change of pace, big lead, or big deficit RB. If the Seahawks need a big drive, KW3 is going to be in the game. The only times you will see Charbonnet in at RB in crucial moments for the Seahawks is if KW3 needs a breather. Seahawks are ready to compete this season, and that means playing their best players, not developing Rookies.

The only way Charbonnet becomes a Fantasy RB you would use in Fantasy Football is if KW3 goes down. Which means he is nothing more than a handcuff that I would let slip in Fantasy Football drafts unless I owned KW3. Not trying to waste a 10th/11th Round pick on a guy that could sit on my bench the entire season. If you go Zero RB strategy, Charbonnet could be a late round flier, but again you are only banking on an injury for him to get consistent playing time. I still like Zach to finish as a Top 50 RB on the season, #46 is my Ranking as of now, but he is not draftable with the intention of making an impact on your team. Lines of 7 Carries for 30 Yards with a couple of catches are very much in his future. Which makes him..
