FANTASY BASKETBALL TRADE MARKET (Week 4)

FANTASY BASKETBALL TRADE MARKET (Week 4)

BY SIR FANTASY DRAKE

In this article Sir Fantasy Drake will headline a few key players he would sell, or buy.  You can ask questions about other players value and either Sir Fantasy or Muntradamus will answer your questions.

(Fantasy Player Updates: Part 1)
(Daily Show: Daily Fantasy Basketball report)
(Trade Market: Buy Low/Sell High)

BUY:

*Players that have value that will go up as the season rolls on.

RICHARD JEFFERSON (F) SPURS

With Manu Ginobili out an extended period of time, Richard Jefferson finally seems to fit in with San Antonio. His shot has drastically improved(shooting 48% from the field) and he is now able to shoot and score more. But the thing that makes him even more valuable, especially in roto leagues, is his robust 51% shooting from beyond the arc. I doubt he can keep this up but it might not fall far, he only takes solid, open looks from 3, usually off a Tony Parker assist. BUY RJ.

JAMES HARDEN (G) THUNDER

For James Harden, this is his 3rd year in the league and quite possibly a breakout year for him. He is an outstanding scorer and gives OKC instant offense when he comes into the game, averaging over 17 PPG. The biggest concern people seem to have with him is that he comes off the bench. This however, should really be seen as a positive because Harden still sees starter minutes (around 30 a game), and when he comes into the game he is going against the other team’s second line, which he can score more easily against. The other concern is that there are two other top of the line fantasy players on his team, but likewise, this isn’t a problem either, because these three guys do just about all the scoring for OKC, averaging a combined 64 PPG. BUY James Harden.

MARCIN GORTAT (C) SUNS

If you need a solid double-double guy and a potential 20-10 player, Marcin Gortat is your man. He is a highly skilled center that averages about 14 and 8. He has had a double double in each of his last 4 games including a 24 and 15 performance against the Spurs last Sunday night. He’s not exactly playing on the 7 seconds or less Phoenix Suns team, but they still do shoot a lot and you know Gortat will be the recipient of many great Steve Nash passes for easy dunks. BUY Gortat.

MARVIN WILLIAMS (F) HAWKS

With Al Horford being done for the year, expect both Atlanta forwards to pick up the slack. Josh Smith always wants to shoot, but especially look for Marvin Williams to start to become the player he always should’ve been. He is now healthy and has put together some pretty solid games. BUY Marvin Williams.

SELL:

*Players that value may not get any higher and you should cash in now.

KEMBA WALKER (G) BOBCATS

After his career high 23 points, now is the time to trade Kemba Walker. He’s on a bad team and has yet to find his groove in the NBA, shooting just under 40% from the field. Don’t buy into his starting and playing the whole game the other night, that was just a function of the Bobcats playing the tiniest backcourt in the NBA in Nate Robinson and Monta Ellis. Kemba will be a good fantasy player one day, but this year is not his time. SELL Kemba and look for a Mario Chalmers in return.

IMAN SHUMPERT (G) KNICKS

He’s had a few good outings lately, but Iman Shumpert is not a keeper. The main thing is his playing time will go way down when Baron Davis returns, as will his production. Right now he shoots just about every time he touches the ball, and this will not fly with Melo and Amar’e on his team, so expect his minutes, shots, and overall production to drop drastically, SELL Shumpert and target Evan Turner or even Devin Harris in return.

DJ WHITE (F) BOBCATS

Sorry to hate on the Bobcats, but what can I say, they suck. DJ White has had a solid start to the season but don’t expect him to keep this up. He will also lose playing time when Tyrus Thomas is truly healthy. White seems like a guy that could be a solid role player in the future and possibly a decent fantasy option, but not now. SELL DJ White, and in return look for someone who you know will play a lot, such as Serge Ibaka or DeAndre Jordan.

  1. Hello again,
As of right now, here is my current lineup in a small 8-team H2H league:
    PG Ricky Rubio
    SG Lou Williams
    SF LeBron James

    G Jeff Teague
    F Pau Gasol
    UTIL Carlos Boozer
    UTIL Byron Mullens
    UTIL Nene

Would dropping Kawhi Leonard for Marvin Williams be a smart pickup?
