Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire: Blame It On The Gose (Week 21)

The three players I recommended were:

Coco Crisp (18 SB/26)

Rajai Davis (24 SB/38)

Ben Revere (20 SB/28)

 

Those three are SB kings now, and I am going to give you possibly the last breed of these players that can win your league.  The SB category is way undervalued in Fantasy Baseball, and it is important to win that category because the options on the waiver wire are looking right at your face.

 

SPEED DEMONS (LAST BREED)

 

EMILIO BONIFACIO – 2B/SS/3B/OF – MIA

Bonifacio will be activated Sunday against the Rockies.  For some reason he is owned in less than 80% of CBS leagues, and that should not be the case for a utility player that has 30 SBs through an injury rattled season.  He will be a SB king in the playoffs and is MUST-OWN to close out the season.

 

ERIC YOUNG JR – OF – COL

Since August 4th EY JR is hitting .428 with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs to go along with 3 SBs.  EY thrives over the month of September, and he showed it last season when stole 11 bases in the final month of the season, 3 in one game.  The Rockies have nothing left to play for, and with Michael Cuddyer going off and on the DL quicker than Paris Hilton after she hangs out with the SF 49ers defense, EY will be playing all season long.

 

ANTHONY GOSE – OF – TOR

Gose has a SB in 6 straight games, and 7 of the past 8.  Even in games when he comes in as a pinch runner.  He will turn the wheels on nearly every game now that Blue Jays have thrown in the towel.  Between Ricky Romero pitching like a AAA pitcher, and all the other pitchers like Morrow ending up on the DL.  The pitching does not stand a chance with an offense that has been without Jose Bautista for a while, J.P. Arencibia the past few weeks, and now Colby Rasmus beat up.  The Gose will give you SB’s.

 

 

BONUS: DEE GORDON – SS – LAD

Gordon is nothing but pure speed, but when he returns from the DL his job may be in jeopardy.  Luis Cruz has been playing so well that he deserves a few starts per week.  Hanley Ramirez will be stationed at 3B as well, so the only option to bring Cruz in the game is to bench Gordon.  When Gordon plays, he can steal 3 bases in a game.  Keep an eye on the situation, but Gordon should be back on the field before the end of the month.
