ROCKIN’ THE CASAS

ROCK THE CASAS

BEAST DOME NATION.

It is not often that I tout a rookie in Fantasy Baseball. None of them ever pan out, none of them ever put up big numbers. However things are going to be different this year as the Red Sox have a young monster in Triston Casas. At 6’4/252 lbs, Casas is similar in size as Giancarlo Stanton 6’6/245. Casas has HUGE major league pop, and he is a lefty. A lefty in Boston is a HUGE advantage as the wall in right field, aka Pesky Pole, is 302 FT down the line. The last time the Red Sox have had a monster lefty hitter was David Ortiz who was 6’3/230. The fact that Casas is bigger than David Ortiz is pretty much all you need to get excited about.

However I have more reason for you to be excited. Casas is rockin’ left handed pitchers all spring. Smashing them to the gap, smashing them over the fence. Triston Casas is a superstar with a monster bat. In 76 at-bats last year, Triston was able to rock 5 HRs. That is an easy pace to have him over 30+ HRs as a Rookie this season. With more comfortability and a good chance he will play every day, Triston is a player you definitely want to target in all leagues.

Bobby Dalbec may steal a few games here and there at 1B, but Bobby Dalbec has shown that he is more of a 20+ HR potential guy, while Triston is a potential 40+ HR guy over the course of a full season. The Red Sox have a young superstar and with how bad they figure to be in a tough AL East where the Orioles are all of a sudden a good team, you can guarantee that Red Sox will go all in on seeing what this kid can do. With an ADP of #203, he makes for a great sleeper if you miss out on some of the top talent at 1B.
