When the Nationals take the field with Scherzer on the mound. There is a different feeling in the ballpark. No not because there is nobody in the stands, but because you have a Hall of Fame Pitcher on the mound before your very eyes. Scherzer will pitch in an empty New York Stadium against the Mets. To not hear the boos and yelling from the crowd will make this a walk in the park.

The Nationals offense is on ABSOLUTE Fire. Juan Soto and Trea Turner are playing their best baseball while Asdrubal Cabrera is coming off of a two HR game. The run support will be there against an aging Rick Porcello whose changeup forgets to changeup. All it takes is for a little momentum from the Nationals and the wheels will fall off for Ricky.

With the lead on the mound, Scherzer will be able to mow through a Mets lineup that does not have the bat speed or control to keep up with Mad Dog Max all game long. Alonso will not be able to read the curveball, Conforto is the Mets only hope, but the odds in that matchup still goes to Scherzer. Jeff McNeil is nice, but he is not locked and loaded like he was last season. Back of the lineup offers zero resistance and Scherzer should avoid trouble all night long.

Look for this to be a vintage Scherzer start as the Nationals defeat the Mets in easy fashion. Not just vintage.
