The Mets are coming off an interesting series against the Nationals where teams were switching off scoring a ton of runs. Scoring a ton of runs is exactly what the Phillies struggled to do against a horrible Orioles pitching staff to start this week. The Phillies also got swept by the Orioles! With the Phillies struggling horribly, they now have the daunting challenge of facing arguably the best pitcher in the National League, Jacob DeGrom.

Jacob is a BEAST there is no doubt about that, but this matchup tonight should be his best of the season. The Mets offense is going to give him a ton of run support. Spencer Howard on the mound for the Phillies against these confident Mets bats is a matchup that is going to end on the wrong side of history for Howard’s career ERA. Conforto is hot, Alonso is hot, Dom Smith is hot, Nimmo is hot. The Mets are hitting! Do not be surprised to see Howard get chased out of the 3rd Inning.

With run support and a Phillies offense that only has two players that can hit the ball right now, Bryce Harper & JT Realmuto. DeGrom will coast through an easy Phillies lineup. McCutchen cannot hit a ball out of the infield, Hoskins cannot hit, and the back of the Phillies lineup is looking like a minor league squad with Roman Quinn and Alec Bohmm setting the table for the front of the order.

By the end of the night, you will be calling him Jacob DeBEAST as well.
