PIRATES @ NATIONALS

Ivan Nova travels to Washington to face a Nationals team that is getting hot, but has been non-existent for most of the season. First thing we should remember about Nova is that he is not a strikeout pitcher, and the Nationals have a lot of confidence. Matt Adams/Bryce Harper are threats to make things happen, TreaTurner can always be dangerous and the Nationals have other hitters who can do some damage. Nova may be running into the Nationals at the wrong time.

Strasburg is going to be an ACE before he comes a BUST. A few bad INN here and there has de-railed what could be a great season. Stras faces a Pirates team that can make him pay if he throws some fastballs over the heart of the plate. Bell/Dickerson should have great angles on those pitches, and you can never forget about Polanco.

BREWERS @ REDS

Oh he’s just being Miley returns to the Major Leagues, to pitch at one of the most HR Friendly ball parks in the NL. Wade Miley has been a disaster since he came onto the scene with Arizona. The Reds have big bats who can hit him deep with every mistake he makes. Suarez/Joey Votto/Duvall can definitely go yard..owooowowoooo, ya. Now the Reds can’t wait. To see him again.

Luis Castillo does not have it going on. He is missing with his pitches, he is getting crushed. The Brewers have a lot of professional hitters who can make things happen with mistake pitches. If Castillo does not do an entire 360, he could go the wrong way quick.

REDS 6

BRAVES @ METS

Sean Newcomb faces a Mets team at a good time to face the Mets. Outside of YoYo, there are not a lot of bats for Newcomb to be afraid of. Todd Frazier can do damage but Conforto and Bruce do not have their swings going right now. Getting Asdrubal out is the X-Factor and the rest can be easy.

Jacob DeGrom has been an ACE all year, but the Braves are starting to play like the top team in the NL. Acuna and Freeman are huge threats, Markakis is hitting the ball and you cannot forget about Ozzie putting together a huge season. DeGrom has a tough challenge ahead, lucky for him he is at home.

PHILLIES @ MARLINS

Jose Urena still has the same taste in his mouth from opening day. Ya he has pitched way better since being crushed by the Cubs, but the Phillies are no easy task. Seems like their entire lineup can hit and it is only a matter of time before this team climbs to the top of the NL East. Odubel will drive that fastball, and they have plenty of other talent on that team that can make things happen.

If there is one pitcher on the Phillies you can always count on, Aaron Nola has become that guy. He is an ACE and it is only a matter of time before he becomes a house hold name. A deep playoff run for the Phillies will make that happen, and to get there he has to shut down a Marlins squad that does not scare anyone.

MARLINS 3

YANKEES @ ASTROS

Luis Severino is the one pitcher on the Yankees who is pretty much Yankee Stadium proof. However they are in Houston, which makes Luis even more ok to pitch. Ya the Astros are a great offense, but the Astros bats have only hit Daniel Megden well recently, Severino is night and day better than that. Life will not be easy for the Astros bats.

Dallas Kuechel might be an ACE, but he is nowhere near the pitcher he was a couple years ago. Going up against the Yankees, good luck. That hanging curve ball will end up in the train tracks if he throws it to any of those power hitters the Yankees offer. Kuechel will want to be on your bench for fantasy.

DODGERS @ DIAMONDBACKS

Godley was crushed by the Dodgers earlier this year, his stuff is not on it’s A game. Despite that, facing a watered down Dodgers team does give him a chance to get his mojo back. There will be no easy outs, but this is the time to sneak by the Dodgers and pickup easy wins with no Seager/Turner/Puig/Forsythe. I don’t like the Dodgers to explode but I am not counting out those bats.

Ryu has struggled with the Diamondbacks for pretty much his entire career. His only horrible start this year came against AZ, and AJ Pollock is the hottest hitter in the game. If Ryu throws one mistake pitch, Pollock will know what to do with it. Goldy loves Ryu too, not going to be easy to be Ryu.

DIAMONDBACKS 6

ORIOLES @ ANGELS

Dylan Bundy went from superstar Ace, to a guy who forgot how to pitch last time out against the Rays. This time he goes to LA to face an Angels team that is strong from top to bottom. While Bundy was bad last start, he can rebound, however the Angels are very strong and Bundy needs to shake off that bad start fast. Angels will make it tough for him to get the momentum he needs.

Heaney’s career that was supposed to be so promising has been a roller coaster. Last start he dominated the Yankees with 9 Ks in 5 INN with 1 ER, but for the majority of his career he is a pitcher who can get crushed. Pitching at home will help, but these Orioles bats are big bats that can hit hard. Look for Heaney to run into more trouble then get out harm free.

ANGLES 5

A’S @ MARINERS

Brett Anderson pitching better than ever gives him the chance to get called up and pitch against the Mariners. If he thinks he is getting his fastball past Nelson Cruz, he can think again. If he thinks he can fool Robinson Cano, think again. If he thinks he can get Zunino or Segura out, think again. Brett Anderson could be in a lot of trouble.

James Paxton definitely has his strikeout pitch going, and the A’s are not that good of a team. Khris Davis and Siemien could be the saviors, but only Khris Davis is really bound to make an impact. James Paxton should be as sharp as they come in this +++ matchup.
