The Panthers have one more tune-up before their regular season, where Bryce Young will take the reigns of this franchise and try to make them playoff contenders. Heading into this third preseason game, the Panthers are looking more likely to be a lottery draft team. I know there is no lottery, you get the point.
The Panthers however can change that narrative Friday night. They face a Lions team that is going to play backups, while Bryce will go out with his first-team offense at home. The Panthers have yet to score a TD with Bryce at QB, and that needs to change. There is no way the coaches and the Franchise are going to wait until Week 1 of the regular season to see a Bryce Young TD drive. If the Panthers were really smart, they would let Bryce play the entire half no matter how many TDs he can deliver.
The Lions will likely start Nate Sudfeld, and Nate Sudfeld is looking awful this preseason, feels like he is throwing more INTs than completions. The Panthers Defense needs a moral boost as well after letting Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor, tear them apart like Swiss cheese last week.
While the season may start in a couple of weeks, this is definitely Week 1 for the Panthers starters on both sides of the ball. Lucky for them, they are going up against a JV Football team. Look for the Panthers to keep the starters out there until they make the statement that they can be a 8 win Football team.
