HOW THE WEST WAS WON (NBA TRADE DEADLINE)

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

The NBA Trade deadline came and passed. Everyone is calling it one of the least climatic NBA Trade deadlines ever, when in fact it may have been one of the best. That is, if you are a Dallas Mavericks fan.

The Mavericks added Daniel Gafford + PJ Washington. They gave up no talent to get them, Grant Williams is not very good he is a bad version of Draymond Green, and that is way too much credit to Grant Williams. Grant will slowly fade out of the league now that he is going to Charlotte.

PJ Washington is maybe the most talented backup big man in the league. He can drop 20 Points any night and score from everywhere. Daniel Gafford is nicknamed the landlord, and he cleans up the glass and jumps higher than anyone. He also defends big men better than most. The Mavericks did not have a true Center, or depth. Lively is okay, but he is still a bit raw. Gafford is a young vet who can control the game on defense. Plus you need two big men on every team if you want to win.

Luka and Kyrie is a backcourt nobody wants to face. The Mavericks have backup shooters in Hardaway Jr. and Hardy. They have wing players like Josh Green and Derrick Jones to hustle play D, and hit the occasional shot. Adding Washington + Gafford to this crew with Lively and Kleber as the other bigs to mix in. This Mavericks team is dangerous from all aspects.

MAVERICKS

+4000 to win NBA Finals

Great Hedge to grab. Mavericks are going to be tough in any series, especially because you cannot double Luka with Kyrie dominating and all of these weapons.

Lakers still have a chance to win it all. I am fine with their no moves at the deadline as a healthy Gabe Vincent/Cam Reddish, and hopefully Jared Vanderbilt return gives this Lakers team more than enough talent. However these move makes the Mavericks an automatic bid to be very hard to beat.
