TYLER O’NEILL FANTASY BASEBALL SLEEPER 2026

When Barry Bonds was in his prime, you expected a home run almost every night.

Today the obvious power kings are Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, but there is another hitter in baseball who can launch baseballs with that same kind of raw power.

That player is Tyler O’Neill.

When O’Neill is healthy and locked in, very few players in baseball can hit a ball farther. His power is elite. The problem throughout his career has never been talent. The problem has been staying on the field.

Last season does not look impressive at first glance. O’Neill finished with 9 home runs and a .199 batting average. Those numbers will scare off all fantasy managers immediately.

But the real story was injuries.

O’Neill started the season the way he always seems to start seasons. He launched another home run on Opening Day, continuing his reputation as one of baseball’s most dangerous Opening Day hitters.

Then the injuries started.

An injury in April derailed his momentum. He missed most of May, returned briefly, then missed nearly all of June. After the All Star Break in July he finally looked healthy and reminded everyone what he can do, hitting home runs in four straight games while batting over .400 during that stretch.

Then unfortunately the injury bug struck again and he missed most of August before returning late in September.

That pattern has followed O’Neill throughout his career.

When he is healthy, he produces elite power numbers. When he is not, fantasy managers forget he exists.

O’Neill has only had two seasons in his career where he played over 100 games. In both of those seasons he hit over 30 home runs. The most recent example came in 2024 when he blasted 31 home runs in just 113 games.

That kind of power pace is extremely rare.

Now entering his age 30 season, O’Neill still has time to deliver one more monster year if he can stay healthy.

Right now he is going undrafted in many fantasy baseball leagues. That is exactly the type of late round gamble that can win leagues.

If O’Neill stays on the field and gets 120 to 130 games, his upside is massive.

BEAST DOME 2026 Projection

.246 Batting Average
31 Home Runs
84 RBI
71 Runs
.515 Slugging Percentage

Those numbers would easily place him among the Top 20 outfielders in fantasy baseball.

Spring training is already showing signs that O’Neill could be locked in. So far he has started the spring going 7 for 11 with a home run.

Small sample size? Of course.

But power like his does not disappear.

At the end of your fantasy draft, make sure you do not sleep on Tyler O’Neill.

Because if he finally stays healthy for a full season, Babe O’Neill might just be back.

Why Tyler O’Neill Is a Fantasy Baseball Sleeper in 2026

In fantasy baseball, the biggest league winners often come from players who are forgotten on draft day.

That is exactly the situation with Tyler O’Neill heading into the 2026 fantasy baseball season.

Most fantasy managers only remember last year’s stat line and immediately move on. A .199 batting average with 9 home runs does not exactly jump off the page. What many managers forget is that O’Neill barely played a full season because of multiple injuries.

When evaluating fantasy sleepers, the key question is simple. What can this player produce with full playing time?

O’Neill has already shown the answer.

In the seasons where he has received over 100 games of playing time, he has consistently delivered elite power production with 30 plus home run potential. Few players available in the final rounds of drafts can realistically provide that level of power upside.

Another factor working in his favor is draft cost. Because he is going undrafted in many leagues, there is almost no risk involved in taking a late round shot on him.

If O’Neill gets hot early in the season, he quickly becomes one of the best waiver wire pickups or late draft steals in fantasy baseball.

That combination of elite power upside and zero draft risk makes Tyler O’Neill one of the most intriguing sleeper picks heading into 2026.
