The AL Rookie of the Year race was once a toss up between Murakami and Mcsingle. However when Murakami went down, everyone fell in love with Mcsingle who had barely any power but was hitting near .300. When Murakami was returning from injury before the All-Star Break, his odds were all the way in the +700 range to win AL Rookie of the Year. It took a couple weeks for Murakami to hit a HR, but then he hit two in the same game, at that time Murakami was over +1000 to win AL Rookie of the Year. Now we are in mid August and it is time to scream the phase.

The White Sox just completed a sweep against the Tigers this weekend, in Detroit. Murakami hit two clutch HRs that sparked two of the three White Sox wins. Mcsingle on the other hand, 1-11 at the plate with a single. Mcsingle actually had a little power run to start the month of August hitting 3 HRs in the span of a week. However since that power outage Mcsingle has been living up to his name, by doing nothing but hitting singles. While on the other Murakami continues to lead the White Sox from the improbable last place in 2025 to 1st place finish in the AL Central in 2026, while hitting 8 HRs in the last 20 days.

There is still 6 weeks of Baseball left and somehow Murakami is still +500 to win AL Rookie of the Year. At this point Murakami not only has the more impressive season than Mcsingle, but also the more impressive story to win over the voters, the ones who actually decide the results. White Sox are having a fairy tale season, Mune has the Japenese market as the next Ohtani, he could lead the majors in HRs next season, probably would have this season if he did not miss 6 weeks due to a hamstring injury. However this season, buy your shares of Mune AL Rookie of the Year before it is too late!
