My dad did not want to write the article after a poor performance, but I reminded him of his Ryan Fox 3.6% owned pick winning the Open Championship (imaged below) a week ago and said give it one more shot. To his reply, “I’m not doing this for me, I’m doing this for you.” After reading this article, I would say he is doing it for the BEAST DOME NATION.
ROCKET CLASSIC

Cameron Young ($12,600)
He is the favorite to win. In his last tournament at the British Open, he finished in second place. His history on this Ross designed course is stellar. He has finished runner-up, T6, and T46 in 3 starts. Young has a 63 on his resume at this Ross course, and he ranks 5th in this field in Strokes Gained per round at Detroit Golf Club. Young’s first PGA TOUR win came at another Ross creation in Sedgefield CC just last season, and he ranks 3rd in this field in Strokes Gained per round at Ross designs.
Russ Henley ($10,900)
He continues to be one of the most reliable players on the PGA TOUR. The veteran has made 13 of 16 cuts and carded 11 top-25 finishes this season. Henley won the Charles Schwab Challenge in late May, and in his last 2 starts, he has finished T12 at the Travelers Championship and T9 at the Open Championship. Henley shot a 4-under 66 in the final round at Royal Birkdale. The last time he played this course he came in 10th place.
Kevin Roy ($7,800)
He has posted several solid finishes during the summer swing, continuing to gain strokes with his irons while ranking well in birdie average compared to others in his price range. He is 13/18 in cuts made and has three top-10 finishes this season, including T11 at the Scottish Open. He’s also coming off a solid top-30 result at the 3M Open. His aggressive style fits a tournament that often turns into a scoring contest where players must reach 20-under par or better to have a chance. Roy has quietly become one of the better approach players among PGA Tour longshots.
Max Greyserman ($9,000)
This weekend is the perfect setup for a breakthrough for Greyserman as he finished runner-up here last year to winner Aldrich Potgieter. One of the Tour’s strongest ball strikers outside the favorites, Greyserman regularly ranks well in Strokes Gained: Approach. Like Roy, he finished top-30 with a decent outing at the 3M Open, indicating he may be rounding into the form he displayed early this season.
Cam Davis ($7,600)
It’s rare when you can get a two-time champion with such high odds that make the player one of the better value bets, but that’s the case this weekend in Detroit with Cam Davis. Still considered a Rocket Classic sleeper at those odds, Davis captured his first PGA Tour title at Detroit Golf Club in 2021 before winning again in 2024. His combination of length off the tee and aggressive approach play consistently creates birdie opportunities, while his confidence at this venue is unmatched.
Chris Gotterup ($12,100)
He is fifth in the FedExCup Standings thanks to victories at the Sony Open, WM Phoenix Open and, most recently, the John Deere Classic. The fact that I have enough money left over after my other 5 selections, makes him an easy pick to make.
