FANTASY FOOTBALL BALLAD OF CHASE YOUNG

FANTASY FOOTBALL
BALLAD OF CHASE YOUNG

BEAST DOME NATION.
Once upon a time with the #2 pick in the 2020 draft, the Washington Football Team, the official team name was undecided as they were just removed of the Redskins. The WFT drafted Chase Young. A franchise that was heading in the wrong direction, led by one of the most hated owners in the league, Daniel Snyder.
Chase Young came into the NFL and looked like an absolute freak. If ‘Predator’ from the movie ‘Alien’ was ever on a Football field, Chase Young could be the actor to play that role. Chase Young was a Freak on a Leash, 7.5 sacks and 3 fumble recoveries, opposing QBs feared looking at Chase Young coming off the edge, and the Washington Football team finally had a defense that was respected. Team name, not so much.
In 2021 Chase tore his ACL, he did not fully recover until the 2023 season, where he got injured in a preseason game. Still played nearly the full season, and Chase still proved he can make an impact with 7.5 sacks and a Super Bowl appearance. He was traded to the 49ers mid-season, never looked comfortable there, he turned into a system guy not a superstar.
Last season Chase put up a notch down in the sacks with 5.5 and 31 tackles with the Saints. He never really dominated and turned into the player that was once feared into more of a good player. Chase returns to the Saints for another year, and another year we have to ask, is he still the same guy. The same ‘Freak on a Leash’? The simple answer to that is, he can be.
If I have learned anything from watching Football after all these years, defense is the one position a lot of guys can go from not that good to great, and great to not that good. The reason is simple, defense is a position where your body matters more than ability. If a player gets a lot stronger, a lot faster, on defense he all of a sudden becomes a star. Chase Young with his size is born to play Football, he is only 26 Years Old.
Cameron Jordan on one side, Chase Young coming from the other. If I was a QB I would write my eulogy before the game. Get deep perspective of all players this year in the BEAST DOME Draft Guide.
