HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME (TYJAE SPEARS)

BEAST DOME NATION.

My loneliness is killing me. AND I

I must confess I still believe. STILL BELIEVE

When you give Tony Pollard the ball, he still has DRIVEE

Tyjae Spears is still that GUY

The Titans are blessed. Not only do they have two great RBs, but they also have Tim Boyle. Enough about Tim Boyle, he will get plenty of air time during the preseason. This article is about the RB situation for the Titans.

Tony Pollard was once upon the time the man who forced Zeke Elliot to give up his “Feed Me Spoon” in Dallas. It was pretty clear that Pollard was the better RB, and eventually the Cowboys gave Pollard that role. Tony had a rough time in that starter role, never really looking like the superstar barely climbing over 1,000 yards. Dallas let Tony go to the Titans, and with the Titans Pollard looked revived. Tony was gashing defenses, breaking long runs and ran for a career high 1,079 yards. Not spectacular, but good enough.

Tyjae Spears is lightning in a bottle. Imagine Darren Sproles in his prime, Tyjae Spears has that ability with a higher upside in breaking tackles. Spears is too good to keep off the field.  Even coach Brian Callahan had to talk about it.

At the end of the day, the Titans are going to give both Spears and Pollard the ball. While Tony may be the starter, Spears will play when the Titans are behind, or in a 2 minute offense, and especially on 3rd down. Pollard is going to still be a solid RB, but he is no longer the reliable RB2 that you would to use a RB1 draft pick on. Tony is more of a RB3 that can play like a RB2, but can also play like a RB4.

Both players are going to hurt eachother in Fantasy Football this season. Tony Pollard will be TD dependent or you are looking at a soft 6-9 points in .5 PPR leagues, while Spears could end up being a PPR monster, but likely not enough TDs to be a Fantasy starter as his numbers could be in the same range. DO NOT DRAFT EITHER.
